Safes

Do all onsite DVC locations and room sizes have laptop size safes now or are there some that have "other" sizes or none at all?

I can only speak for BWV but the safes there are those tiny ones that have no depth at all--same ones that I have seen at non-DVC WDW resorts. I can't imagine a laptop would fit, but I have to say I never tried.

Ok then, maybe a better question would be which rooms do have laptop size safes?

Since the OKW studios had the safes added much later than the 1 bedroom and larger units, they probably all have a laptop sized safe (at least the studio we ad last June did) The 1 bedroom unit I stayed in last December had the smaller shoebox sized safe.

I dont think OKW's safes in the 2 bedrooms are big enough....

And for some reason I dont think the 2 bedroom we had at BCV's safe was big enough for a laptop.... but I could be wrong...

How quickly do you need to know? I may be taking a laptop in a little over two weeks. If my new orders(third set) aren't cut by May 27, I will have to take my laptop this upcoming trip so that as soon as I get them via a PDF attachment I can contact the travel office who will then contact Carlson Wagonlit who will then contact me with my travel info. Oh yeah, I go on active duty June 11, 6 days after we get back from the World. Government efficiency at it's best, it's only been known since November when and where I needed to be for this.

Well I guess the speed of knowing really isn't the issue. I just tried to search for it and couldn't find any info on it at all so I figured making a list of which locations had what would be helpful for everyone with a notebook. <---(see how I typed notebook instead of laptop for search reasons )

So far we have
BWV-no
OKW studio-yes
OKW 1br-no
BCV-no?

Keep posting them and I'll keep updating the list Even verifying that a location doesn’t have them will help. If you have used one for this purpose, stating the model of laptop would help too for others to compare to.

Anyone going on a trip soon with a tape measure or ruler?

We generally stay in a 1 or 2 bedroom at OKW or BWV, our laptops would not fit in those safes. My husband leaves the laptop, digital camera and Dvd player "'out in the open', he feels it's safer that way...so far he's been right!!!
