Susan and I arrived back in Buffalo yesterday afternoon, after a wonderful Disney vacation, about a 1/2 hour late because of strong head winds. We had a very funny flight attendant who kept us all entertained with her humour and a cute song, thanking us for flying SW, to the tune of Zip A Dee Do Da. On the way down we arrived early, we think the pilot had the "pedal to the metal"! Arranging for a Town Car was certainly a nice treat! Oh, and we breezed through the border at Fort Erie both ways.
Disney was very busy but with a little planning we were able to do just about everything we wanted. At the end of the day the crowds leaving MK were phenomenal so we sat and watched the lights change on the Castle (saw the Kiss Goodnight twice) and snapped picture after picture. I think we got a "few" good ones!
One evening we walked over to the Contemporary and caught the bus to DTD and transferred to the POP bus. Our timing was perfect and we didn't have to wait at all.
We also enjoyed sampling foods at the Food and Wine Festival at EPCOT and went on a shopping spree after Fiesta Margaritas at Mexico!
We had Margaritas another day too, but kept out of the shops that time!
We also popped in to AK and MGM for a few attractions.
The Christmas decorations are starting to go up in the resorts and that was nice to see again. We had hoped that the Grand Floridian's would also be up but they were still in the process of putting up the framework for the gingerbread house when we stopped by on our last day.
We ate at Trail's End Buffeteria, GF Afternoon Tea, Rainforest Café at DTD, Beaches & Cream (no, not for a Kitchen Sink
), Kona Café for Tonga Toast, POFQ food court (took the boat from DTD, love the cruise along the Sassagoula River), Mara food court at AKL for Zebra Domes dessert, Columbia Harbour House and the POP food court. For our last day, we had a late lunch in the Castle and Cinderella was there in her throne room, where we got lots of pictures.
We met some really nice people along our travels each day and even a DISer, dmensing, standing in front of us at BTMRR. I noticed a lime green Mickey shape hanging from his backpack and tapped him on the shoulder and asked him if mine meant anything to him. We had a good chuckle and a quick chat before getting on the ride. We tried to meet up with pjpoohbear one morning at the POP food court but it was so busy, we missed each other. We did speak by phone for a few minutes, beforehand, though. We also met a couple of women from Long Island, also staying at POP, who teamed up with us for our last couple of days and they were glad of our "Disney expertise". They had a rental car so we were able to avoid some of the crowds.
We had beautiful weather, not a drop of rain. Our first day was the last of the hot, muggy weather so we were glad about that. It got cool at night, especially near the water but it was a shock to come out of Buffalo Airport into the real cold, when we arrived home.
I'm still unpacking and that's all I can think of right now. We were on the go everyday day and hardly spent any time in our room at all. We'll post some pictures shortly but will be glad to answer any questions in the mean time.
I can't believe it's all over again.
