Sad and Scared DISer here today UPDATED p. 4

I can't imagine how frightening this must be for you. There are many boys and men from our area in Iraq right now, lots of lonely kids and wives. Our Nat'l Guard is a Construction Battalion, and they are over there rebuilding, and we live 35 miles from Whiteman Air Force Base. The guys rotate home for just a month or so, and many head back. It's very hard, you and your family will be in my thoughts (also SplshMtn99 and bubbleprincessmom.):grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Many many hugs and prayers. The National Guard unit here in East Tennessee has been called to active duty too. They also are leaving in June. Please know that we are all here for you and will be keeping him and all the others in our prayers.

I'm so sorry! My friends b/f found out last week he is going in early June. He is active Marine but thought he was staying put for awhile. He did 2 tours in Afghanstan.

God bless you all!

Hugs to you and your family as you prepare for this big change. We are with you guys all the way!:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Thank God for men like your husband... and for families like yours that go through so much so that a spouse can serve for our country! We couldn't do without families like yours!

I know that doesn't make it a bit easier- but please know we appreciate what he does and what you have to go through so that he can do what he does. Thank him for us! And thank you. *hugs* to your little ones!

I will keep your family in my prayers. Your husband is a very good man for doing this.

I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers....I will pray for your DH's safety....

Best wishes to you & yours.....

I will keep your husband and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Hope he returns quickly and safe!

Definitely keep us posted and let us know how you are all doing. Hopefully this war will be over soon and he'll be back before you know it.

Just wanted to offer some support and a big thanks to the sacrifices your family is making for all of us!

Alice I just wanted to say I will keep your husband and your family in my prayers. Also tell him thank you from all of us! He is helping to keep us safe. Hang in there!

I want to send my support to you and your sons. I'm sending a big "THANK YOU" to your husband for serving our country. And a big"THANK YOU" to you for your sacrifices while your husband is away.I hope he returns quickly and safely!

DH came home from drill last night and said it's not for sure. They need so many volunteers from each rank; if they get enough volunteers, he won't have to go. Also, this is a different Oregon brigade that is calling him up vs. the one he is in...his commander said he would do what he can to make sure none of his guys (meaning DH) won't have to go, cause he needs everyone to be ready to go to Afghanistan on the tour they are slated to go on. If DH went to Iraq, he wouldn't go to Afghanistan and that's not what his commander wants.

Although either separation would be hard, I would rather DH be in Afghanistan than Iraq, as his mission would be training the Afghan army, not searching for terrorists. (there are two groups in Afghanistan doing these two missions).

Thank you SO much for all your thoughts, prayers and kind words. Maybe, just maybe, we won't be separated as soon as I thought. :D
