Sack lunch suggestions for avoiding CS...

Oh my gosh, I totally regret writing that. I know it sounds crazy, and its something that I would not do just because it seems like a pain in the butt. But there are people out there that do these things! For those of you with a sense of humor, check this out. http://www.wikihow.com/Cook-Food-in-a-Hotel-Room

The coffee maker is one thing- your still using it for it's intended purpose of heating water that is to be consumed- but the IRON for everything from eggs to grilled cheese! :scared1: That sounds like something my brother and his friends would have done in college. :lmao:

I officially have no sense of humor. That site just totally freaked me out. Chicken in the coffee maker? Really?

I could do the instant oatmeal, but the rest of the "recipes" are just YUK!

I guess people should be cleaning their coffee makers with bleach before using them! The thought of raw chicken in there makes me feel ill!:sad2:

My point was that cooking hot dogs in a coffee pot & lugging them around in a thermos all day is gross. That water doesn't get hot enough to cook hot dogs. Then putting partially cooked hot dogs in a thermos? Really?
I have to wonder if people clean the coffee pot afterward. I, for one, use the coffee pot for ... well coffee ... and would hate to have it taste like wieners.

I honestly don't know which is worse - wiener tasting coffee or coffee tasting wieners. :lmao:

Yet another reason to pack a Ziplock with a couple sponges that have been cut up and loaded with a bit of dish-washing detergent. I honestly don't care is someone uses the coffee pot to "cook" as long as they clean it well.

I haven't done it at Disney- but I have boiled hotdogs at home, and heated baked beans hot on the stove, then put dogs in thermos lengthwise, fill with beans- like 5 hours later they're still piping hot for lunch while out somewhere(like skiing) I just brought along paper plates and forks....
For cold picnics, I used to boil the dogs, then cool them down fast, slice them and toss them into a tupperware box, in another tupperware I'd add small cubes of cheddar cheese- bring ketchup in a 3rd container-keep in iced cooler- when it's lunchtime, the kids enjoyed eating their lunch with a toothpick (like at a party) add crackers or some fruit and drinks- lunch-portable and inexpensive!
(I personally cook the 'dogs' before eating, but you don;'t have to)
at first my friends were horrified until I pointed out that bologna and many lunchmeats are just larger versions of those hotdogs:lmao:
And then their kids would ignore the deli food, and eat our stuff......:thumbsup2
It's amazing how tiny that box of food looked in the cooler, but we always had enough to share.....
At WDW,when we had a stroller, we packed salami and provolone sandwiches (they pack well, and don't spoil easily) along with drinks in a small lunchbox- then get snacks later as we liked.....
Now we just split a CS meal, MORE than enough food for 2 people! (2 meals,1 lg. soda feeds 4 people)

...or...another kid fave that all the other kids seem to want.... anything small,in tupperware, with toothpicks- black olives, chickpeas, pepperoni, chunked fruit- nuts, sunflower seeds.....it's amazing what they eat when it comes with a toothpick.....

"If the coffee pot has a dark, reddish-orange stain, it might've been used to brew methamphetamine, and the resulting coffee could be hazardous to your health. If there's a chemical smell in the room, that's another red flag."

:rotfl2:

Ummm...I think I'd rather eat hot dogs that tasted like coffee.
