SAB Rehab?

Is Stormalong Bay going into rehab this fall? If so, does anyone have the details?

Three phases - one section down each phase. They have said they are painting.

Nov - looks like the kiddie pool area
Dec up to before Xmas - looks like the middle loop
After New Years to just before end of Feb - section with the slide, including the slide.

Since we will be there at the end of November, I have searched these boards for any info I could find on this rehab. Based on what someone was told by a manager at the BC, here is what I think the plan is for the rehab, which supposedly includes painting and sprucing up......

November 1 thru November 24 the kiddie area including the sand pool will be closed. From after Thanksgiving to the end of December the center section will be closed. In January and part of February the last section, including the slide area will be down.

Not sure how true that is, but I hope it's accurate. We'll be there from Nov 27 to Nov 30 and we have a lot of young kids in the party, so we really want the kiddie/sand area to be open (fingers crossed!!!)

I guess that means I'll be able to take a few slides down the JIB!

Could someone tell me what the "center" section is. I am devistated by this. My DD has been begging for 3yrs for YBC. This year her sisters are finally old enough to enjoy it so we have it booked after thanksgiving. Nov 28-Dec 1. I just don't hav ethe heart to tell her.

The center section is probably the lazy river part.

Here are the dates reported previously:

SAB is going into rehab in phases.

First starting November 1 - 23rd: Kiddie pool

Second, November 23rd until the December 22nd: Center section (includes lazy river) and a swim area.

The last phase is January 2 until February 25th: Slide and slide section.

Last Oct the lazy river was down and my grandkids had a great time anyway. I, however, was extremely disappointed as it's my favorite spot.

Me too. I haven't told my daughter or nephew yet. Sigh I suppose we are supposed to pool hop to the BW? It's bad enough I had to go to the circus this weekend now I have to be by that clown slide (shudder) which I have managed to avoid for all of these years. I'll just grit my teeth.

Any more news on what they'll be doing? Will they fix the sinking sands area?
