I just received my docs :bounce: and was hoping there would be a little more info about the concerige services you receive. I been reading on this board and heard there is a seperate check-in and also that you can book spa and Palo reservations through them and not have to wait in line. Does anyone know if this is still true? Where is the seperate check-in and how does it work? I am not dead set on spa reservations so should I just wait and see? Any other info would be great. The actual DCL site does not give hardly any info regarding this.

Thanks!!!!

after you board you will be given a time to go meet your concierge team. They can make any reservation for you, no need to go wait in line. You can also make palo reservations by calling the concierge prior to boarding. Not sure of spa reservations.

When you get tot he port, the check in desk is all the way to the right (there is a sign that says Castaway Club and Suite Guest check in...in past it has been two seperate lines for those but they are right next to each other so they are on the same sign).

As for spa and Palo reservations, we recieved a phone call from the concierge before the cruise, I want to say it was like 2 weeks prior to the sailing that they contacted us. But if you did not make any reservations with them when they called they still held some reservations for onboard bookings. Upon arriving in the room there was a welcome type packed that had the phone number for further assistance, you can call that number and they can book your stuff. They held spa and Palo times for Concierge guests (which were released back to anyone on the 2nd day of sailing if they were not taken).

I wish, being that Disney is a newer ship, that they had incorporated and actual Concierge lounge like some of the other cruise lines have, were you can go in just like a hotel concierge service and have them help you with things. Maybe someday they will add that.

We have not sailed in a few years so this may have changed, but that was my expereince with the service :)

Hi!

We were in a Cat. 3 on the 12/6 sailing of the Magic. We did not receive any calls before leaving home. Everyone is correct that the check-in line is all the way on the right. At that time, we received a sheet saying we could meet with the concierge staff any time after we boarded until 3 or 3:30 (I forget which).

When we met with them, there was a gal from the spa there to make ressies, as well as a kids' club gal to sign our son up. We didn't make Palo ressies, as we just had it delivered to the suite one evening.

I understood one of the perks of staying in the suites was the ability to order from any restaurant menu but assumed that Palo was included in this. Is there an extra charge added on for ordering from Palo? Also, do they provide you with menus from all the restaurants so you know what is available everyday?

Hi!

No, we were not charged extra for ordering off of the Palo menu. Yes, there are menus in the stateroom so you know what you may order.

Thank you! I don't know why it didn't occur to me that Palo would be included. It's a great way for the kids to get a chance to sample their food even if they are too young to go to the restaurant.

Another perk is that you will not have to wait in line to board. Once you have checked in you get to walk past all the other cruisers waiting in line and you walk right in. We went to Sessions to met with the concierge staff and signed our daughter up for the children's program, and made spa reservation. We never go to Palo but if we did that is when we could of made our reservations. We also signed up for our excursions at this time. Kathy

we didn't use the concierge services for anything...
we went to the spa for the first day tour and my daughter signed up right then for a massage on castaway cay....and as it turned out, there were still times available for CC even on the day we were at CC (she changed her time to later in the day).....
i think that a lot of people prefer the ship spa to the cabanas on CC, which is why there were times available...my daughter on the other hand, was in 7th heaven in the cabana....she just adored the atmosphere and can't wait to have another massage there this coming summer....(she frequents spas a lot where we live and so i guess the one on CC must be nice if she thinks so highly of it...
