Jimbo said:No, the worst call had to be unnecessary roughness on Hasselbeck for "blocking below the waist" when he tackled the guy after the interception. It didn't have near the impact of some of the other ones - including the phantom holding call on the previous play - but it was an unbelievably bad call.
Some of the others were (questionable) judgment calls, but this one almost seemed like it was invented.
I've seen Brett Favre do this same exact tackle when there was an interception. (which is many) and he was called for "blocking below the waiste" too. They dig in with their shoulders towards the guys legs so they trip the guy. Al Michels did say though that the quarter back can do that - it isn't done so often, so that is why the official probably didn't know it wasn't illegal. Matt Hasselbeck was on the side-lines arguing with the extra ref, but Al Michels said you can't disgruntle a penality like that.
Someone said the Seahawks organization will be upset today-probably, but Mike Holgrem tried years ago to get the NFL referee's organization to be more responsible with officiating. Right now, who in their right mind would even want to be an officiant for any NFL games.

I guess we'll have to try harder next year!
