We are planning our first trip as DVC members and was wondering are all the studios basically the same, meaning do they all have one queen with one sleeper sofa? If so is the sofa full or queen size? One last question do any other studios besides BCV have balconys? :confused3

Thanks for all your help

The studios at OKW have two queen size beds instead of a sofa. The other resorts have a queen and a sleeper sofa. Almost all of the studios in the resorts have either a balcony or a patio (if you're on the first floor). We've stayed in studios in three resorts already and have enjoyed all of them. (We are two adults.) Next month we'll be trying out VWL. If you've received your DVC guide it's a great resource for questions concerning the different resorts. Hope you have a great trip!

The sleeper sofa in the studios is double sized, not queen sized. Only OKW has two queen sized sleeping places (two actual beds) in the WDW DVC studios.

I've stayed in studios at VWL and VB and both had balconies. But I'm pretty sure all studios have balconies.

Staying in a studio at a DVC resort does have it's perks. Great on saving points and for shorter stays when purchasing the DDP.

Here is a very quick summary!!!

OKW - really nice layout, with beautiful verandah, but lacks the mordern updates of newer DVC resorts.

BWV - the largest in size and are in the process of being renovated. I have seen the new color schemes and they look very nice and more upscale. Plus lots of dining and accessibility to EPCOT.

BCV - studios are bright and cheery, but are small and can have lousy views and can be a distance away from the pool area. Best pool at WDW!

AKL - fine appreciation to detail and spectacular views of savannas and pool areas. Rooms are nicely appointed and the best value during low season for an out of this world vacation.

BLT - my least favorite. Too many points per night and the rooms are the smallest at WDW and hallways to guestrooms look very plain and no visable pixie dust. On a plus, great pool and it's on the Monorail.

SSR - huge resort with nicely appointed rooms. Can offer great views of Downtown Disney and surrounding area. Good resort to have a car.

VWL - small studios will a sense of the great outdoors. Nice details, but have small balconies and be far from restaurants and shops in the main Lodge.

Hope this helps.

OKW is the largest of the studios. BWV, BCV, VWL, SSR are all very similar in size.

Agreed, here's the square footage:

OKW - 390 sq. ft.

BCV - 365 sq. ft,

AKV - Jambo House: 316 (value) 365 sq. ft. (reg.)

Kidani Village: 366 sq. ft.

BWV - 359 sq. ft.

SSR - 355 sq. ft.

BLT - 329 sq. ft.

I think the balconies at OKW are the biggest or least have a table for four on them and then AKV is next. The other balconies are all pretty small.

The OKW balconies for the one bedroom and larger have the larger table with four chairs. The studio balconies at OKW are more square with a small side table and two chairs, kind of like all the other balconies - just square instead of long.
