Hi,

I'm sure this has been covered before, but I can't find info. anywhere...

Can you split meals on the dining plan? (Other than all-you-can-eat or buffets, of course).

For instance, if dh and I want to split a sit-down meal so that we can have both a sit-down lunch and a sit-down dinner... What would we need to do - just buy one extra drink?

Also, would it be "tacky" to hint (or plain out tell) the waiter that you will tip as if ordering two meals (in other words, leave money on the table in addition to the dining plan's automatic 15%)?

As excited as I am about the dining plan, I am starting to think that an appetizer/entree/dessert really WILL be too much food at one seating.

One last thing, do I even have to mention any of this when I make PSs?

Thoughts?

Yes you can split meals. Just let your server know that you want to use the dining plan for 1 meal when you order and then he/she can put anything else you order (extra drinks, appetizers, etc) on a seperate check. You do not need to tell them you will tip extra (that would seem a little gauche to me, but I am certainly not Emily Post) but I am sure they would always appreciate the additional tip if you choose to leave one.

You do let them know you are using the dining plan when you make the reservation, however I would NOT reccommend trying to tell them you will be sharing a meal...what you order after you get there is your own business.
