I reserved a room at the GC several days ago with a theme park view. They asked if I wanted a view of Grizzly Peak or Paradise Pier - I chose Paradise Pier. When I called today to give my credit card, they told me I had a pool view room. After much discussion, I was told that Paradise Pier is just on the other side of the pool, so we'll be able to see it in the distance.

I've been reading here that the theme park view rooms are really great. Is anyone familiar with this pool view room with PP in the distance? Are there other rooms that are closer to PP? We were kind of hoping to feel like we were "in the park" when we opened the sliding doors.

 Thanks!

It's a bit hard to describe, but I'll try. Basically, the hotel forms a "U" shape around the pool. If you're at the bottom, or base, of the "U" (which is basically off the lobby), you would be looking straight out with the pool in front of you and PP behind it. If you're towards the right, you might be able to catch a glipse of Grizzly Peak.

The room we had was on the right side of the "U." At first, because I was being so unobservant, I was upset at our supposed theme-park view. I stood at the door and looked down and saw the pool. Then, "HELLO," I looked up and across the way, above the opposite wing was Grizzly Peak. And better yet, when we stood on our balcony and turned right, we could see all of Paradise Pier! We ended up being very happy with our room, we could see the pool, Grizzly Peak, and PP.

I don't think you could truly feel like you're IN the park, but it's just about as close as you could get! (Beyond the pool, there's a grassy area before PP.)

We had a grizzly peak room and really loved it! At night the Peak would be lit up and off to the right you could see the the rollar coaster with the giant outline of Mickey in lights. One morning we woke up and the monorail was right there, stopped on the track. It was before the park was open and the monorail sat there for about an hour and it just added to the whole feel of it all.

We could see various rides in the park, but there was a nice low woodsy area right between the hotel and the park (I am sure for security, but it is beautiful)

We could not hear any park noise when we closed our sliding glass door. I am not sure about the noise of the pool. We we were there, it was too cold for swimming.

We were extremely happy with our room. It was really great to wake up in the morning and see the Grizzly Peak and monorail right outside your window!

Enjoy your stay!
