I am so excited about my upcoming trip! My hubby actually is getting into the planning this time.

He suggested that we could perhaps rent a small boat (Water Mouse?) at the Contemporary and take a romantic riide, maybe to Downtown Disney for dinner and dancing at PI.

My questions are these:
1. Is it even possible to rent those boats after dark?
2. If not, do the shuttle ferry boats continue to run after dark?
3. If both of these options won't work for us, what would you suggest for a romantic evening?

Hopefully someone here has the knowledge I seek. When hubby makes a suggestion like this I like to follow through. It may not happen again. LOL!

Any help?

Unfortunately the boats from CR do not acess the lake to dtd. Plus the boat rules are that NO stopping at any location just go out on the boat the seven seas lagoon & bay lake, which are connected by a water bridge. But you cannot stop at any other resort... but on the water!

Boat prices where raised since our last stay so they are kinda high. I'm not sure I would want to be in a water mouse boat with another adult, they get there speed from how light the boat is, and it would be kinda tight unless you are both very short, & petite.

They also rent at CR: Pontoon boats you can walk around on, we have taken them out also and just parked out and drifted this was very nice and relaxing, and now rent ski doos? The water things but the ones you sit on. you can also do the parasailing thing if your up for it.

Do you drive the pontoon boat yourself?

We have rented a boat at Riverside when it was Dixie Landings and was told we could get out at DD shop, eat and whatever, then return back to the hotel. We were charged by the 1/2 hour for as long as we were out. But I am not sure if you can do this at night.

However, if you wanted to take a fireworks cruise with just you and your hubby, that would be kind of romantic, start off at the Poly get a couple of mia tia's (sp) buckets and just let them take you out to view the fireworks and the water pagent. It's a little pricey, but wonderful.

yes have driven all of wdw water craft! The dxl landings boat must of been a new experience cause when we rented there we were told no you could not park at dtd or any where else, just as it is at the other resorts with boats.

The pontoon is actually easier to steer, drives like a large car!:p

The reason I ask is DH doesn't drive very well...Keep him away from those.

Maybe I'm thinking of someplace else, but I thought we rented a boat from one of the resorts, to go to dtd, but I must be wrong. Sorry
