Hi,
I was wondering if the lovebugs have arrived yet? I completely forgot about them when we booked our trip. :( they are so annoying. I was also wondering if anyone had ever tried using any sort of bug spray to keep them away from you? I was thinking of bringing the Off Clip-on with me in the hopes it would repel them! thanks.

They haven't arrived here in Bradenton yet.We are about 1 1/2 hours south of Orlando so we should be getting them first.

I live in the Disney World area, and we haven't seen Love Bugs yet. As far as I know, the bug spray won't really repel them.

Nothing repels them
We have seen some here and there where we are but not many and not in swarms yet.

well, they've arrived in Tallahassee (about 4 hours north of Orlando, in the armpit of FL, as I like to say!). They aren't swarming yet, but the swinging singles that were flying around a couple of weeks ago have started to find friends... :rotfl:

as far as I know, there is no spray that successfully repels them. but they are harmless, if annoying.

Over the last three years reports have really declined. Not to say you wont see any, but three years ago this was becoming a MAJOR topic and issue for people on the boards. Last year reports dropped off dramatically and this year Ive seen maybe a hand full of questions and very few reports.

Thanks!! I forget what year we were there (maybe 99?) and they were pretty bad. I'm glad to know they have lessened.

They have arrived here in South Louisiana, not too bad so far! Now where is some wood to knock on?

We were there about 3 years ago and they were bad. They are only annoying. Lot better than mosquitos and flys anyday.

I totally forgot about these from our Oct 2007 trip. They weren't much of a hassle then and apparently they've been pretty tame so far, hopefully won't be a problem next month.

Not bad in St. Augustine (2 1/2 north or Orlando). Nothing to repel them, but I would much rather have those around than all the mosquitos, bees, wasps, hornets, yellow jackets, and yellow flys.

not here yet...I notice them when the weather changes (i.e: cooler days in the Fall and warmer days in the Spring)...btw they do not bite so why the bug spray?...I posted elsewhere about the love bugs and noted the only real issues with them is when they splatter on the front of your car...they eat the paint right off if you leave them bake on. A great way to get them off is to wet a fabric softener sheet, they wipe right off....

I hope this isn't a stupid question, but what's a love bug? We used to have an invasion of lady bug-imposters at my college, but that's what we called them...
