Rv question

We love to camp in Disney. This is the first Christmas we are not going...So sad. Anyway, I have a question off topic. I hope it is ok. My parents are looking at buying a RV to travel with us. They are looking at a Holliday Rambler Neptune (36ft) and a Fleetwood Bounder (38). Any commits on any of these? Plus I know I have seen big Rvs in Disney but do they have a restriction on length and pop outs in FW? Thanks in advance!

They are looking at a Holliday Rambler Neptune (36ft) and a Fleetwood Bounder (38). Any commits on any of these? Both are introductory models for diesel motorhomes within the manufacturers lineup. Many consider the Bounder to be one of the best bangs for the bucks. Looking very closely at all the specs and finding the best floorplan for their needs is the way to go.

Plus I know I have seen big Rvs in Disney but do they have a restriction on length and pop outs in FW? I always see 45 footers in FW so they will have no problem. Thanks in advance!

Just as a side note, have them make sure they are getting at least 20% to 30% off the MSRP if they are shopping new.

I don't know about restictions, but my parents have a 38ft 5th wheel with 3 slides and they camp at FW all the time. As long as you tell them when you make your res what size RV/trailer you have and how many slides you should be ok.

I vote for the Neptune!

This is why: Alumaframe® Superstructure. I cant find on the Fleetwood site what the frame is made of so I am assuming it is wood. RV's sweat and there is no place for the moisture to go and it rots the wood.

We have been to many RV shows and love to look at these units. We have compared the Fleetwoods with Holiday Rambler and Gulf Streams and we feel the Holiday Rambler's or Gulf Streams are built better.

This is just my opinion!

I would recommend joining the RV Consumer Group at http://www.rv.org/--it's like Consumers Reports for RV's and it will give you unbiased information about different rigs for durability and safety and other factors. Sure, it costs about $100 but when you consider what an rv costs it is a great investment!

We have a 98 37 foot Bounder which we bought used. It is in great condition and we LOVE it!!!!!

Thanks for all the help. We looked at the Neptune today and one of the pop outs had a dent that was outward. Not sure what is going on. The Fleetwood Bounder lists for $19?,000 and there price so far is $135,000. It is an 06 and needs to go. It has lots of upgrades. It is just a huge amount of $ to spend. Sounds like a fairly good price. That should be a Fleeetwood MSRP not a dealer made printout.

You could try to offer a little less since in many areas the rigs are not moving very well and the '07s are here.

Make sure you take a good test drive on any rig that makes it to your short list.

We just bought an '06 Fleetwood Expedition ( next model up from the Bounder ) in April. So far, we love it. There have been some warranty issues but from everything I've read on rv.net almost everyone has little things that need fixing, the first year, even the $500,000.00 rigs. None of the issues have kept us from using the rig, just little things that have needed adjustment.
