We are planning a trip im July of 2010 looking to do 1 week @ Fort Wilderness with our camping friends and then maybe going to a reort. What resort would offer the largest area to be able to park our truck and trailer, I have seen units left in the outer parking lot @ the Fort but not sure on leaving it here all week.Right now every thing is in the planning stage and want to have it all worked out to book it when the time slots open up.

I have seen RV's parked at SSR before as their parking lots are huge compared to say BWV.

Claire ;)

They're not supposed to be. DVC clearly states in the planners that RV, and trailer parking is prohibbited, they do have outer lots away from the resorts where these can be parked.

Unless they are small RVs, OKW requests that large vehicles be parked at Port Orleans. Really, I doubt any of the DVC resorts have the extra parking lot room necessary for larger vehicles, except to load, unload..then they would need to be moved.

While at BCV's 2 weeks ago there was a huge RV parked in the lot next to the Villas for at least 3 days...then we left. Not sure if this was a no-no or if something was eventually done about it.

would ask FW first. then call ms and ask where you can park it.

okw use to have a big problems with these things - until DVC say no more.

they were okay when it was just one or two - but one time there was at least one big RV at just about every building (okay the resort was not finished). and they were taking up a bunch of place. (might have been 15 of the big ones)

can definitely understand someone complainting if they could not park near their room because of the RV.

Well..... after checking the only DVC resorts that even mention no RV parking are OKW and HHI, so I guess it is allowed at other resorts.

Sorry for any mis-information:confused3

Thanks for all the info I did look in the planning guide and all it said was to check each resort for availabilty. I would not expect to park our camper to close to our unit, even when I park my truck I never park real close to where I am going because of it's size, walking a bit farther does not bother me.
