Hey Lynn! I just found your PTR and am going to join in as well! I've only read your first post but noticed that you're going to school for elementary ed. That's what I went for too...there seems to be a lot of teachers here on the DIS!

I have to get caught up now but I also wanted to say that my sisters and I saw Harry Potter last night at midnight. I wasn't planning on going but my sister's friend ended up getting sick so they had an extra ticket. We had a bunch of people dressed up too which was amusing. We really enjoyed it. My one sister enjoyed it so much she's actually seeing it again right now with my dad.

I am hearing really good things about the new HP movie! My friend tried to convince me to go to the midnight showing on Tuesday, but by the time we had decided to do it, the tickets were all sold out. So, we are going this weekend and I can't wait!

Hey! I just wanted to say I've been reading your PTR- and it is awesome!

We'll be down there at the same time for our honeymoon! (Jan 3-10).

I also wanted to make an HP comment! I saw it, and for the first time, was slightly disappointed. I've always been very forgiving of hollywood changes- but there were a couple of things that irked me. One thing in particular I felt was kind of contradictory to a certain character's personality. I won't post them here- but if anyone wants me to elaborate- feel free to PM me!

That being said, I'm going to see it again this week with my nephews, and will definitely see it a 3rd time at IMAX. So, I'm still extremely loyal!

Anyways, just wanted to post my 2 cents. But keep the good report comments coming!

Ok, so I thought waiting until Friday to see HP would be no big deal. My Aunt and I always do the dinner/movie package for HP at our local theater...it's our little thing. And, she can't go until Friday...no biggie.... Except it is!! I'm insanely jealous of everyone who's seen it!

Jeff said we should go see it tonight and just not tell my Aunt...but I feel to bad about that. So I'm going to wait like a good niece....but, man it's hard!

One more day and you get to see it!!!

It's funny how we all have our little traditions! Ours is that I always go to dinner with my ddil (tho until this movie, she's always been just my sons gf) and then we go to the midnight show on the very first night it's out! We have had a great time each year! This year my ds and dh decided that they wanted to go to. But so that we didn't break tradition, we put them in line at 7pm and we went to dinner alone! We had a great dinner and a few drinks, then we went and stood in line while the guys went to dinner. It was really a great night!

Sorry that you have to wait a little while longer... but you're being a good niece!

Lynn, The concert was soooo good but it was sooo hot lol And I didn't get sick all day intill the middle of the concert!!!! But the rest of my family really like it too my nieces and nephews were soo excited when thry played walk this way they said its rockin roller coaster!! i think they go to the world to much. lol ya I haven't gotten to bad today so hopefully it'll stay that way lol

I enjoyed the movie but I didn't feel it was as good as it should have been. Considering they pushed it back so I was expecting it to be a lot better than it actually was. I felt a little letdown to be honest.

Ok. I saw the movie. Being a HUGE HUGE fan of the books. I thought it was OK. I'm not too mad on most of the things they took out. Like the battle, and the funeral. But what I was mad about is they didn't show Bill getting mauled by Greyback, and also how Tonks and Lupin were already together. That was supposed to be a big part of the ending saying how much Dumbledore would haved wanted more love in the world.

Also, I didn't like the fact that drinking Felix Felicius makes you seem, umm high, and drinking a love potion makes you drunk. Also, I think they overdid the Lavender/Ron thing. It made it seem to me that Lavender was obsessed with Ron. They didn't even have a S on the locket. Which is also a big part in Deathly Hallows.

I did like how they showed Regulus since he (or at least his name) plays a big role in Deathly Hallows. I also like the face they talked about him leaving and not coming back next year.

That was my two cents. I may be nitpicking since I'm such a big fan. But still. It was OK.

I agree with that completely. It had it's funny moments but it got really old after awhile. Everything with the teen hormones was overkill throughout the movie.

I didn't like that they didn't even explain who Greyback was. He was just there. My DBf has never read the books and kept asking 'Who is that guy?' They didn't really explain his character all. They didn't even mention Bill and Fleur. I wonder if they'll cut them out of the 7th movie as well?

And really, how many times did they have to show Draco taking the cover off the cabinet?? That shot was in there like 4 times. There was no mystery to that part of it AT ALL. That was pretty much what the book was about!!

And is it me or did it make Harry look weak? In the book, he was stupified and could not help Dumbledore. For the movie, he just stood there and was quiet, as asked by Dumbledore. That doesn't seem to me something he would do willingly. There was no character growth at all for Harry in this movie.

I thought it was ok but overall, I was disappointed too. For pushing it back 8 months, it should have been better.

Anyways, I was shopping online for clothing for my DD for our trip and came across this tee and it made me think of you. I don't know if you have already seen it, but here it is anyways. I thought it was cute!
