So I've decided I'm going to be good over our vacation and keep up a solid running regimen. I'm staying at Bay Lake and I've been told the best thing is to take the blue flag launch boat over to the Wilderness Lodge, then run over there and through Fort Wilderness. Anyone else have any suggestions?

I'm starting training with my friend for the half marathon in Disneyland in September...then the full one in January 2011! Call it an early New Year's resolution, lol.

It really depends on the mileage you want to run and then how many loops. By far the Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness resort offer the longest runs with no repeated paths.

However, you can run from BLT. I have a 3ish mile out and back loop. I starts at the north corner of BLT, circles around property along the lake front then cuts the parking lot up to the public walkway to MK and follows that sidewalk past MK to the barge canal. Then returns on the same path.
Other opportunities are from OKW (taking the path to DTD) and then a multi loop Epcot Resorts loop. Oh, and an All Star CSR loop

Change the view to satellite - BLT section approximate but you can loop the bldg

good luck! I'm trying to train so I can run the WDW 2011.

It will require a short trip but I think the best run on property is along the canal that goes from the boardwalk area to DHS. A run around the lake and along the canal in the early morning when no one is there is the best run I have ever done on property.

I agree with Firedancer. I am in the Orlando area 12-15 times a year and run most every morning that I can at WDW. Here are my rankings

The Crescent Lake - DHS canal loop. Early in the morning you run into lots of rabbits and an occational maintenance truck. Add the outter perimeter (Epcot Resorts Road) to the loop and its a decent run.

The OKW-DTD loop via the 'nature trail. You can make this run as long as you like. Though too early on a moonless night makes for a few issues on the trail as it is not too flat.

I stay a lot in the Marriot Village so the Marriott Village - OKW loop is most run. The first mile of the run is well urban with lots of cars passing. The sidewalk is decent. Once you turn onto Hotel Plaza its a new world. Then once in DTD the atmosphere is once again Disney.

Fort Wilderness is the best long distance run on propoerty when you are attempting a daylight run. Its mostly shaded and you can get 10 miles in at the resort with mostly new path. You can loop all the way around to GF if you wnat with little traffic issue.

AllStar - CSR - there is a sidewalk from the Allstar resorts to Coronado. ITs a nice loop but not one I have run much.

The the BLT loop. I ran it once this year. Its kind of cool to be that close to the MK gate 3-4 hours pre0opening. There is a lot of hustle and bustle.
