Running... From Coast to Coast and Back Again - Tink 1/2 TR, Princess TR

Gah! I hate getting behind, I've missed so much! Wa-hoo for your online check in cha-cha (gotta remember that, LOVE it! :rotfl:) and your single digit dancing!!!

I'm another vote for the red bow on your ultra cute running outfit and I can't believe I've missed all your posts about your movie nights!!!!

I'm so glad you've been doing them, even if your DBF is sleeping thru most of them! They make the time fly by and planning them is half the fun.

I'm glad Lilo is OK, poor little thing. :goodvibes:

I always say it's better late than never! Haha, just wait too, I have lots of dances lined up for the remainder of the week!

I definitely think I'm going to go with the red bow, I'm hoping to have time this weekend to sew it on.

Movie nights have been so much fun! I'm still living vicariously through yours though since they're a lot more involved than mine! DBF is slowly getting better... next week is our last movie night before the trip so I'm hoping he makes it through this one!

I am so impressed you made that zebra mickey head!! I am going to need to hire you for future disney and/or running outfits!!

Haha thanks! I made some back in November for the look alike shirts my mom and I wore for that trip too! It's so easy so I just make tons of them now!

I am so incredibly jealous that you are getting to run so many Disney races!!! I really wanted to do either Expediation Everest, DL, or W&D but none worked out. I'm signed up for the full marathon at Disney in January but that seems so far away!!!
Love the outfit! Totally adorable.

Amanda

Wow! I'im always so impressed by those who want to try the full! I finished my half last year and couldn't imagine why anyone would want to do a full  I'm really excited about my upcoming races, I can't wait to write trip reports about them when I get back!

This week, DBF and I had our second to last movie night. I let him pick this one and he went with :

Cars

I was really hoping he'd make it through this one since he picked and he said he'd never seen the whole thing before...

Well, he's still never seen the whole thing   But, at least this time he only missed probably the last 20 minutes or so...

Sorry but once again my food pics have gone missing :confused3 so you'll have to use your imagination...

We had car sandwiches (just basic hot ham and cheese sandwiches on a sub bun with potatoe chips for wheels). Then we had radiator springs pebbles (baked beans) and picnic potatoes (couldn't come up with a clever name for those).

Next week is our last movie night and I'm hoping DBF will make it through this one! I saved one of my favorites for last!

Too funny about not making it through the movie! :rotfl2:
I think the full marathon is like a bucket list thing. Plus, I was super jealous of the Mickey medals! :lmao: I really want to do the Goofy so that's my goal for 2013!

Amanda

Don't tell anyone, but Cars is our movie pick for next Tuesday! This week was Ariana's favorite - Snow White, so I figure Demetri gets to have his favorite next week. ;)

I have a variation of your sandwich idea planned but I may have to steal the pebbles idea - cute! Give that man of yours some coffee! :rotfl2:

Can't wait to hear about your last one!!!!

Yea, I'm really crossing my fingers for our last one but I don't have too high of hopes...

I think it would be awesome to do the Goofy one day! But we'll see... I'd have to have someone to do it with me.. I wouldn't want to do it alone

I can't wait to hear about your Cars nigth! I especially love the crafts you come up with! I could give DBF some coffee but he still probably wouldn't make it through with my luck .

I'm excited for our last movie night but I'm still working on food...

We are going to try our first movie night next week (hopefully). I am very excited and hoping we stay awake :rotfl: Though right now my A/c isn't working so we might just pass out :lmao:

I like the red bow!!!

I have to ask. When is the marathon in Sept. And what is the distance. I know you told us, but I can't remember

Hi! I wanted to say that I think running marathons at Disney sound so awesome. I'm hoping to run the princess half marathon next year (hopefully -we'll have to see since we're pretty far away).

Your plans sound great and lots of fun. I love the outfit

I hope it goes well! I can't wait to read about it! Though, I have to say that full stomachs and a hot room sound like a recipe for tiredness for sure, I'll hope for the best though!

Thanks, I definitely think I'm going to go with the red bow!

The Disneyland Half Marathon is Sept 4th, so we'll be in California Sept 2-5. Then, the Wine & Dine Half Marathing is Oct 1st, so we'll be in Disney Sept 30 - Oct 2. Both are half marathons so they're each 13.1 miles.

Welcome! It is so much fun! I ran my first just this past January and I can't get enough of it as you can see! I would like to do the Princess in 2012 as well, I can just imagine all the cute outfits!!

:cool1::banana::yay:ONE WEEK WIGGLE:yay::banana::cool1:
I can't believe we're at the one week mark already. It feels like just yesterday I was online pricing it out! But, I'm so excited and as I was driving to work in the 43 degree rain this morning, I was sure to put some extra wiggle in my dance for nice weather in Orlando!

That being said, we've had a small change in plans. With DBF in tow, he decided there were only two attractions he wanted to ride in Epcot: Soarin' and Test Track. That's it. So, in our extra time, we've decided to try something new.

We're going to Drink Around the World.

Sort of. With being in Disney and keeping things family friendly and with having a race the following night... we want to have the experience with out knocking ourselves silly. Therefore, we'll be sharing a drink in most countries. I've already made us a cute Passport to have stamped and write what we got and what we thought of it. But, this is where I need all of your help...

What are your favorite drinks in each of the countries? The only one I know I want for sure is the Citron slushie in France. Other than that, all suggestions welcome please!

Oh, I forgot to mention. I have Celiac disease. For those of you that don't know, it's basically just an allergy/intolerance to wheat. Therefore, I follow a dominantly gluten-free diet. Which means, no beer for me. So we'll need non-beer drink suggestions please!

Drinking around the World will be fun! But make sure you drink plenty of water in between drinks, especially with running a race!!!
I would think you'd have to get a Margarita from Mexico, right? :thumbsup2

Amanda

As long as margaritas are allowed...you must try one from Mexico...but go inside the pavilion to La Cava del Tequila!! They have the most amazing flavors of margaritas in there, my favorite being pineapple. There are some funky flavors, but I haven't been brave enough to try :rotfl:

I know Germany is known for the beer, but they should have Riesling, one of my favorite kinds of white wine..yum! Also Italy had some fruity drinks and wines that I loved but I cannot remember them specifically

Yea, we plan to do the mildest form of drinking around the world but I'm sure a Margarita is in the mix!

I read about needing to go inside for a margarita, I'm glad you mentioned they have pineapple though... I didn't know that and I think I would really like it! Riesling is my favorite kind of wine too, I'll definitely be getting it!

With 4 days to go, I have a very busy schedule ahead of me. I'm working today till 5 then I have class tonight 6-8:40pm. Tomorrow I'm working 9-5 then I have to do my training run then all of my packing for myself and for our dogs (everything they need to stay at DBF's parents while we're away). Wednesday I work 9-5 then class 6-8:40pm. Thursday I work 9-5, then I'm going home to run, shower, pack the car, then DBF are going to the opening of a new restaurant located next to where I work. We'll be spending the night at DBF's parents house on Thursday so they can take us to the airport Friday morning. This way we won't have to leave a car at the airport plus they only live 15 minutes from the airport while we live about 45 minutes away. I'm hoping with all this going on, the time will go by quickly!

Day 3 Plans and last movie night coming soon!

I know I'm showing up really late, but I just discovered your PTR.
It is so awesome that you are running in so many Disney races! I wish I had the stamina/courage to try them all out.

As it is...I'm doing the Expedition Everest 5K this week, as well, and it's my very first race. It's hard to believe it's happening THIS Saturday.

I love your race costume! The zebra idea is so cool and that skirt is adorable.

Well I was going to suggest a strawberry margarita from Mexico but I see that was well covered! The Grey Goose slushie is the only other drink I've had and LOVED so I'm unfortunately not too much help otherwise.

Jealous you are days away!!!

Welcome! I hope you love the race this weekend. I can't believe it's this weekend already either. You should absolutely try one of the other races! The training is completely doable and finish the race is one of the most amazing feelings! How long will you be in Disney for this trip? What all do you have planned? I love hearing about other people's trips!

And, thanks! I had a lot of fun coming up with a costume and I can't wait to wear it!

 Yea, the margarita's seem to be a popular choice! And well, the Grey Goose slushie is typically the only alcoholic drink I buy in Disney so I can't miss it.

OK, DBF and I made it to our last movie night before our trip. I had been saving this one for last because I knew DBF had never seen it and it's one of my favorites. We watched...

Tangled-DVD.jpg

Tangled!

I find this movie really funny and DBF even laughed a couple times :thumbsup2. I think Maximus and Pascal have the cutest personalities and I just really like these new "modern" princesses. I feel like Tiana and Rapunzel are great because they both have dreams and ambition and they go after it. They just happen to fall in love along the way. Unlike the "older" princesses who's main focus is on getting the prince. Anyway, now that I'm done analyzing the movies for the "moral story" value, let's talk about the food!

I may have stretched things a little bit this time but I think it turned out cute. I had wanted to make hazelnut soup since that's Rapunzel's favorite but to be honest.. I was a little scared of the recipe and knew I'd mess it up. So instead, we had Rapunzel's Taco Towers (taco), Maximus's grains (Spanish rice), Pascal's Crisps (Tortilla Chips), and Hazelnut soup (cheese con queso dip). Like I said, it was a bit of a stretch but still cute. Here's the pics:

Sorry the pics of the chips and cheese dip don't want to load...

We had a lot of fun and best of all, DBF made it through the whole movie without sleeping!:woohoo:

I hope to one day do one of the Disney half marathons. At the moment, I'm leaning towards Disney's Wine and Dine Half Marathon, but first, I figure I'll do the EE 5K and go from there. :rotfl:

We are getting there the 6th and leaving on the 11th. We had hoped to get to Orlando a day earlier, but I promised a friend I'd attend her college graduation, which is at 7pm the night of the 5th.
This is, hopefully, going to be a relaxing trip for us. A lot of naps by the pool and easy-going park days.

I love your last movie night choice! :thumbsup2 Tangled is such an awesome movie, and I love how independent Rapunzel is. And Pascal has to be the cutest sidekick I've ever seen!
Did your DBF stay awake for the whole movie?
