Another week almost over. Work has been stressful, strained. Many patients have asked me why I am not talking to them about my trips or family and I tell them the truth. Things got a bit better yesterday afternoon, but still I feel like I cannot be myself.

Sorry you've had such a trying week, Veronica. I worked one summer while in college as a dental assistant so the dentist's wife could be home with her kids...(since I nannied for the same 6 kids when I was 14 and 15 two summers, I guess she felt like she owed me the trade.) It was a summer that went well until I got a gagger and a guy who had never taken care of his teeth--they were black and so were his gums, and also a guy with gum cancer all in the same day. Dr. Rozengrin (no lie, that's his name) thought I wouldn't show up to work the next day. Definitely made up my mind that health sciences was NOT going to be my major, but I did finish out the summer. My hat's off to you to be able to do it day in and day out.

I have to say I'm getting some insight into how WW works with your posts...it must be nice to know you've earned a (small) indulgence through exercise or not using those flex points throughout the week. Me, I just feel the guilt when I'm off track.

Have a much better week this week, and thanks so much for checking up on me. I promise to check in more often, even when I get the week up to here with frustrations.

Sunday is Y morning for me. I like getting up early-ish and heading to the Y to workout. After last weeks workout, I did not feel I had really "burned" enough doing the arc trainer. So I went back to the elliptical this week. Oh boy, did I feel like I got a workout.

70 minutes at the Y-10 mins rowing, 30 minutes weights and abs (more abs this week than last) and 30 minutes elliptical. All this earned me 4 exercise points.

I had to run out to the library and Bath and Body works, DH asked for Taco Bell for lunch. Broke out my WW book and decided I could do 2 of the fresco style tacos. Basically they leave off the sour cream and cheese, and put the salsa on instead of just tomatoes. Gives it a little kick. I am satisfied with it, didn't break the bank to eat "fast food". A good choice if I find myself out and in need of a quick meal. I dipped into flex a little today as I was really hungry. Not unusual on a day when I do a harder workout. Done eating for the day, but still working on my water!
 
Another start of a new work week. The weather forecast is dicey for this week. Looks like we are going to be getting snow for most of this week, coming in dribs and drabs. Maybe. The local weather forecasters are not excatly stellar in their predictions, so we will see what actually happens.

Not impressed with this weeks weather forecast. Snow, may mix with rain thru Thursday, then "the big storm". Could dump a bit of snow on us Friday. :mad: Of course I have a hair appointment on Thursday night and have to work Friday at my new part time job, which is farther from home and I have to travel on the highway (which can be a nightmare in good weather).

Good job on the continued loss.Ya so much for thinking spring, we got about 8 inches here and now a mix.No school or work for me(off anyway) but we did lose power for about 2.5 hrs.boy that gets tough without coffee! The gym is probably closed so I will have to improvise here.

Hope you had a safe commute.I bet they had alot of cancellations or no shows at my job too.

Pat yourself on the back for making good choices and not letting a drift here or there derail you. I'm so sorry that the weather your way is nasty; spring is here and since weather is supposed to move from west to east, it should make an appearance your way soon. Still, I'd like it to be more winter-like here for a while more (helps students focus and keeps my garden from becoming overgrown in high grass and exploding weeds.)

You are doing great in being active and getting in some kind of workout each day; your energy level is really admirable.

I am sure that I am - I see it in my own weight loss (when I was actually losing) and now in trying to maintain before making another push. I would lose inches and see the scale actually creep up, then whoosh, the pounds would go.

I just re-visited your food list...chicken with stars--rather chicken with salt!, even processed applesauce will have a sodium component to it; I was flabergasted with the Theraflu this past week--sodium city! And some "low sodium" Progresso Soups were over the top of what I can have without it making me balloon up like a zepplin. (From 155 to 160 overnight!) Unless you are just pounding down the water, sodium in any form will make you gain weight or hold on to it. Be really careful with any processed foods--I used to rely on those spa-style lean cusines for lunches because they have more veggies in them--low calories, right? But each small portion has more sodium in it than you should have in an entire day.

I know it's a trade off between time to exercise, time with family, time to sleep, time to work, but you might try making extra portions of what you make for dinner, and then packing those extras up for lunches instead of going for the canned soup and see if it makes a difference in the ups and downs. For example, DH grills up a flank steak one night for dinner, and I take flank steak to eat with my salad twice during the week, when he grills up chicken breasts, he does one or two extra and that will go on my salad a couple of days, frozen cooked prawn defrosted in the fridge might be another option. When I cut up romaine hearts, I do up enough for dinner and grab a tupperware container and fill it up for salads the next two days at the same time. We set aside the food and it goes in the fridge the same time we are dishing up our dinner plates; that way it's not an extra step and it can't tempt us to eat an extra portion at dinner.

Sorry - long post...don't let the scale get you down on a daily basis, use the way your clothes fit for feedback on those days it doesn't behave :)

Laurie-thanks for the thoughts. I do pound down the water every day-at least 1 gallon each day. Especially conscious of it on the weekends.

I don't really cook meals-each night we each eat something different. This weekend DH wanted spaghetti, so I made extra and packed up 6 portions for the freezer. But I don't eat them a lot because of the points. We rarely eat meats like steak, though I do chicken on occasion. And I can't do shellfish as I am now allergic. So I tend to eat the same things over and over again, eggs and salads being my "go-to" foods.

30 minutes on the treadmill this morning gets me 2 exercise pts. Biggest Loser is back tonight, so DD and I will be on the treadmills again tonight, so 1 more exercise point for me.

my friend at work made chicken salad, I opted to eat that instead of the lean cuisine I had taken with me. Unfortunately, it did not sit well with me and I have spent quality time in the potty this afternoon. Guess the LC would have been better?? I am just having dinner now at 8:45pm since I really felt yucky when I got home. I still went to class, felt okay. Decided a little cereal would be best for me. Going to take a shower soon and then hit the sack.

We are looking into some new recipes to make some more whole foods and not rely on the frozen meals so much. But it is tough, DH is picky and I don't always have a lot of time when I get home to prepare a meal. I subscribed to the Hungry Girl site, she has a lot of neat swaps, and provides the WW points values for them too!! We are going to eat up the frozen meals we have and then make up meals on the weekend to freeze for during the week.
 
So last night I was not feeling so well. I had some GI issues yesterday, but still managed to go to class at the Y. Came home and had a small bowl of cereal, a shower and went to be by 9:30. Feeling better this morning, which is a good thing.
