Rumors that Disney is in negotiations to sell Star Wars back to George Lucas!

Giving your opinion of which SW movies are the best is fine. Telling someone else that their opinion is wrong is not fine.
Thanks message board police. You are so smart to keep us peasants in check. I added imho (in my humble opinion), so does that get you out of my underpants?

The Filoni stuff is just ok to me. I don’t get the massive love he gets, as it’s not like he hasn’t been involved in any bad content. His stuff is hit or miss too. I trust Favreau way more than Filoni.

I do like the Asoka character and she is very well written imho.

Will it ruin your childhood?
No, thankfully I still have copies* of the original Thrawn Trilogy on my bookshelf. :)

(*three different paper versions, plus the ebooks, plus the standalone 20th anniversary edition of Heir to the Empire)

Some of those started selling again when Kennedy declared them non-cannon. It’s almost like people how terrible the new books would be.

I read the original Thrawn trilogy when it came out. It was all we had, during the dark times, when we thought we’d never get any more movies, snd we were desperate for ANY Star Wars content. Wasn’t a big fan. I liked some things, like Mara Jade, and the idea of Thrawn, but overall didn’t love the books. I’m ok with a new take. Maybe I should te-read one day though.
I’m a total Filoni fanatic . DH not so much . I think he’s the heir apparent to Lucas, and just really gets it. Have loved Clone Wars, Rebels, and Bad Batch, and Ahsoka is in my top 5 characters ever, my DD’s all time favorite. We are so excited about the series. I’m trying to keep my expectations in check though, so not to be disappointed. (Like I was with Book/Boba and a lot of mandalorian) Loved the trailer, except for Hera and maybe even Sabines delivery of lines. It’ll take me a while to get used to those voices/ actors. Still adjusting to Rosario Dawson instead of Ashley Eckstein. But so very excited for this.

Filoni's stuff is just like he's playing with action figures and pandering instead of telling a good story with something to say. He's one of the worst things that ever happened to the Star Wars universe.

It saddens me to see both Star Wars and Star Trek cheapening their brands and devaluing their already existing content in an attempt to become the next MCU.

See, to me, that's exactly what Star Wars should be - it should be tapping into the kid in all of us. I don't agree though that he's not telling good stories - I have enjoyed his work.

100%

I have always preferred live action to animation, but in prep for the upcoming Ashoka I have been watching the Clone Wars and now Rebels. I have totally enjoyed Filoni's work, and am very much looking forward to the Ashoka series.

To be fair... I have enjoyed all of the Star Wars movies and shows. ... well except for how they ruined Padme in Revenge. But I love all of the new streaming series... Boba... Obi... Mandalorian

Fans today are so hard to please. I totally believe if the original trilogy came out today ... it would be panned.

That's what I always said int he Prequel era when everyone was hating on them. I would sai, if those three had come out first, then we got the OT, you'd all be hating on them. The reason - becauase you're not 8 years old anymore! Nothing would have ever stood up to whatever lofty pedestal that people had the originals on.

i am always reminded of an interview Mark Hamill was giving on Seth Myers and he was talking about how during filming he was worried that his hair was not wet and messy after the trash compactor scene.. and he said what Harrison Ford said to him at the time (BTW he does this in a drop dead Harrison Ford imitation)

"Hey kid... this ain't that kind of movie, if people are looking at your hair we're all in BIG trouble"

See, Harrison gets it - he's always gotten it!

I really, really, really wish someone would say "**** continuity" and retcon Padme as having faked her death and bring Natalie Portman back for a D+ show where she's secretly running the early rebellion. :P UGH, I hate that George killed her. It would have been so much more interesting if she'd survived.

As for Filoni, I think he's a good storyteller but not great at directing (basically like George). I think he's REALLY bad at live action and his episodes of Mandalorian have been my least favorites. (I'm also dreading the retcon for where Ahsoka was during the Original Trilogy, because if she's anywhere near Luke Skywalker, that just doesn't make sense.)

if Maul can come back from being cut in half... then why not Padme from sadness? Yeah her story arc sucked at the end, from being so strong to becoming so pathetic. There were so many ways her story could have/should have been finished better.... and making for a more realistic Anakin>>Vader transformation.
