Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

I just got off the phone with Disney Dining. The CM told me that the RoL package will be available to book on March 2nd. She said she didn't know much more information than that regarding times, dates, or prices but had been notified of the date bookings would start. She also said that it is being launched as a "test" dining package so it is uncertain when it will run till. She also said that booking a general TH dinner reservation would not be helpful in securing a hypothetical RoL dining package because it would be a totally different ADR. This is nothing official of course. Who else will be on-line March 2nd at midnight?

Count me in! We're going mid May and since they don't even start till 5/1 I know they are going to be tough to get. I'm sure if I'm not there when it opens we'll be out of luck.

I think you're right, 6am EST for ADRs online and 7am EST for calling. Personally I'm going to check at midnight just because I'm well within my 180 days and therefore if it pops up at midnight I want to book it asap

Oh really? Since that is the day I plan to be in AK, I guess I'd better stay up! Or hope they do a FP too.

I just text my friend (the one involved with the show production) and told her apparently dinner packages could be booked as of Wednesday. Her slightly panicked response was "but we don't have an opening date yet!!!" So I think it's probably accurate that the dinner packages start a couple of weeks after the show is supposed to.

Another poster indicated 5/1 as the starting date for ROL dining packages. How do they handle soft openings for these new shows? FP or standby?

I'm interested to know this too. I think previous posters have said it can be just random (CM's asking "do you want to follow me?")--it would be awesome to be a bit more certain that we'll see it though! maybe I'll ask CM's "Can I follow you?"

I also just spoke on the phone with dining and was told May 1st. We have a Tusker House lunch adr on April 25th and I asked about turning that into a ROL package and she said no package booking until May 1st but that if they decide to change that it will be posted on Disney Parks Blog.

Based on this thread though I will be on the lookout March 2nd!

I wonder if this means we are very close to getting an official announcement on opening date. Maybe as soon as tomorrow or Tuesday. If they are opening packages on 3/2, that means they have to have announce an opening date in the next 48-72 hours.

I hope they do, but from what I'm reading it sounds like they are going to open up ADRs for 5/1 and later on 3/2 - which would mean they still don't have to give an opening date for ROL that's any more specific than "5/1 or earlier."

This is making more sense to me especially with the rumor of ROL opening mid April or later.

Interesting timing on the opening of ADRs. It's 60 days from May 1st. I wonder if that means that FPs are going to be available starting Wed as well.
