Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

Has anyone tried to book tusker today? MDE on the android is now only showing on tusker menu dinner ROL 1st showing. I've booked breakfast so tried to book dinner the same day just in case they happen to change some pool but not been able to do a booking at all.
I check several times a day on my iPhone app and on the website itself and still have not seen any mention of ROL anywhere! So frustrating.

We've never done a package for one of the shows. Approximately how much more does it cost above the price of the meal?

Sometimes, no added charge.
Sometimes, it is a fixed meal charge that includes the show.

Read about the Fantasmic! Dining Pkg. HERE.
The RoL Dining Pkg. (if there is one) may or may not use a similar payment mode.

Great! Thank you!

I wonder how many people Tusker House can cycle through in a day?

People are craving new things at Disney. It will be fascinating to see how popular this will be, how difficult it will be to get into the show without a dinner reservation.

If they have about 10,000 seats for the night with three shows, and 50% get booked up by dinner packages. Then 5000 seats would go very quickly through FP+ system.

It seems Disney would have to release a small number of FP+ to be gobbled up at the 60 day mark, then people would buy more dinner packages to make sure and get a seat.

With Tiffens and Tusker House offering packages. They would have lots of dining package slots.

Will the more expensive dinners at Tiffens have a better view than the seats from the character breakfast at Tusker House? Is that how it works at WoC in DCA?

At the buffet probably not an increase but you have to book one of the show package ADRs.

on the HUB it's only showing that it will be dinner and only for the 1st showing of RoL
The Rivers of Light Dining Package provides Guests with a choice of dining experiences at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park and reserved seating to the new nighttime show Rivers of Light. After enjoying a mouthwatering meal, experience the beauty of the nighttime show that celebrates the relationship between animals and nature through live performers, grand theatrical imagery, a soaring musical score and innovative special effects.

Package includes one (1) buffet meal, reserved seating for Rivers of Light show and a lanyard.
Guests must dine 2.5 hours prior to show start as they will receive their show credential at the dining location.
Guests must arrive at the theater 15 - 35 minutes prior to the show. Entrance is located along Discovery River between Discovery Island and Expedition Everest.

It's not showing any change in the price, but that could change, right now it just says Adult: $44.73, Child: $26.63

Hmm, very interesting just based on what the app showed, but Tweaks are to be expected I'm sure. Is this for Tusker House or does it not say?

You won't actually be able to see the show from either restaurant, if that's what you are asking. They will give you a voucher that you take to the theater to get access to the special seating. Sometimes they have a sign where the dining package guests can line. If you are asking if Tiffin's guests will have better seats, then probably not. For F!, the Hollywood Brown Derby guests have the same seating as the Mama Melrose and Hollywood & Vine diners, even though HBD is a more expensive restaurant.

No, I was asking if there are better locations in the theater. The better seats would be reserved for the Premium priced meals. I think standing locations at WoC are based on price of meal. I thought that the people who buy Carthay Circle dinner packages at DAC had a better spot than those who got dinner or lunch at the cheaper locations. And those ranked above FP, which was better than standby.

I don't think this was the case when we went in 2013. We ate at Carthay Circle, and I thought all of the table seating packages used the same line. The line was really long, and I don't think that many people ate at Carthay Circle. It wasn't very busy when we were dining. I think the picnic package, which they may not do anymore, got an FP+.

This was the case for Fantasmic at Disneyland. The Blue Bayou had better area then the others.

My package was from Wine Country Trattoria last summer we had reserved standing in the front left side. There was a separate line for front center. And yet another for front right. I thought the differences was for more expensive meals. I also think there was color coded FP areas. Then standby. It seemed like a lot of different areas were roped off. Based on what I have seen from the RoL theater, it looks like the center section will have the best view of everything including the Tree of Life. The side sections will be less desirable.

This makes sense given the size of the seating areas.
The full amount on the phantom page of MDE seems excessive, particularly if you add FP+.
Maybe it will land somewhere in the middle.
