Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

my husband just saw on his phone the ROL Dining Packages (Under Menu as well) - Must be close to releasing this. We are speculating times... If sunset is around 7:50 in April then I assume maybe 8, 9 and 10?

I think we are going to miss the opening by a week :worried: but their is always next year.

Does anyone know how the dining plan will work with Tusker house and ROL dining package. Will it be one credit or two?
I don't think anyone knows anything at this point, as Disney has yet to announce/confirm. But, the F! pkg at H&V is still only 1 TS credit, just like the regular meal (without pkg).

I posted a photo of the screens on the news round up thread. The screens will show a giant sunset and apparently the glow from the screens is very real and I've heard that from previews it looks amazing.

That sounds cool. I hope it doesn't mess the animals up too much.

It would most likely be 1 credit. For F! at Mamas and H&V (idk about BD) it is 1 credit. You have to specifically book the diner package when you make your ADR and then they take the credits at the restaurant just like any other TS meal. As far as the questions about an "up charge" with the dining plan it doesn't matter. It's a set price for the F! Package so that people don't book the package and just order dessert for the special seating. They want to make sure you're paying for a full meal.

Really want to watch this as have a tusker breakfast reservation for August and would love to change it to the ROL package.

As a family of 6, not having to worry about getting a seat for RoL would be great. However, the Tusker House character lunch is already $168 plus tip for us (now convert that to Canadian dollars) so having to pay an upcharge on top of that likely makes our decision to get or NOT TO GET the dining package a no brainer (for us anyway). I'm crossing my fingers for no upcharge!

I'd certainly be happy if there was no uncharge for a package (!!), but is it just me, or would that be odd?? You are getting something of additional value... charging something for that seems reasonable to me. I suppose one might say that the reserved seating is a gift for us being SO on top of things as to book these limited packages in time... but I suspect that is not what Disney (or any other for-profit company) intends... ;)

I mean, like others have said it's completely speculation right now. I think there will very likely be an extra cost, and I think comparing the situation to H&V is a good idea. They're both character buffets with possible VIP seating at a nighttime show, so it's likely about 5 or so dollars per person you'd pay for the premium seating at AK too. I'm a big fan of the F! packages, and we book it each time we're in the world (at different restaurants).

I think it's safe to assume they will keep it consistent with Fantasmic package, Candlelight Processional package and you will pay more. I would think the question is more likely as to how much more given that seating at RoL will be much more limited than Fantasmic. This package will be a hot ticket and sure to sell out.

Dining Plan holders will be getting the real value here.

This is a great point--I wonder if the 3 seatings are meant to offset the more limited seating?

Is it just me (I might be having trouble looking at the photos or just imagination) but this seating area looks really small. I am thinking the 3 showings will be the stagger the amount of people but even still it seems so small.
i think i read it will have 5-6,000 seats. AK gets on average 25,000 guests per day.... so 3 showings would work. Not everyone that goes to the park goes to the show either...

I've read that, too.
But, when you LOOK at the RoL theater seats, I see little chance that little more than half of that is possible in the stands.

Fantasmic! has about 7500 seats (arranged in about 300 rows, total.)
RoL seating shows only about 110 rows, total.
Something does not compute.

Also, once this show opens (and Pandora opens) all bets are off on "average" attendance numbers.

And, many times, guests make a special trip to DHS just to see Fantasmic!, which changes the
numbers at that show in relation to the average number of daytime guests to the park.

Whatever the capacity, I'm looking forward to this!! I'm always ON these ADRs at 180+10, so I like my odds of booking this. :)

For this Aug I'll just have to stalk this one since we're already within that window... fingers crossed...

I'll be waiting for dates. We're going in May, and would really love to see RoL!!!!

F! Dining Package for BD is 2 Credits
