Just an FYI: I started checking from day one for FP+ for my one day "in the area" .... without success .... until just now. Was able to pick up mine and went back in and got 2 more for DS/DSGF for a Saturday night with one show. They may not keep theirs (they were doing Universal all weekend) but just in case I made them.

Keep checking and now I can skip being tied to a Dining Package.

Thats my hope...we'e planning on RoL on our last full night in the parks so my plan is to be online at 6 am (CST) and keep my fingers crossed. I'd much rather hit Tiffins for lunch with the 20% AP discount.

This past Sunday AM around 9:30 CT I was surprised to get FP for a party of 8 on March 14 at the 30-day window. That allowed us to cancel a Tusker House dining package lunch for 6 adults/2 kids, many $$!

So I was able to change my Tiffins lunch to a TH breakfast on our 1 day in the parks (2/26). Now we're set with dining package and FP until after the opening.

That being said, I'll be cancelling 5 FP for 2/25 if anyone is interested. In no rush- just let me know.

Nevermind...just saw that on;y one show is scheduled on May 28 at 9:15...thats plenty of time.

I'm guessing no AP discount for the dining package though. if I can snag a FP+ when my window comes available it may be better to keep a regular ADR (use my 20% AP disocunt) at Tiffins then just use a FP+ for the show.

I noticed the same thing. Booked Tusker House for the night before and first showing is 9:15 too.

We are there 6/3-6/11 and my FP day is 4/5 I believe. That's Spring Break and we will be out of town staying at a friends' house in Pensacola, Florida. I told my DH I do not like being out of town on our FP day. Obviously I'll bring my laptop, my iPad, and my iPhone and they do have wifi...so I should be good, right?? Ugh.

I'm fairly organized so I will have them all figured out before we go but I'll have to bring all that stuff with me on the trip. Also I would've preferred it stay midnight. Now I will have to get up around 6:30 on vacation so I can get settled with coffee and such before the 7am window opens.

But, it could be worse, right? Like no trip to Disney.

I'm generally pretty organized too, but being in the mountains with the spotty wifi and all the red wine does provide challenges! I prefer midnight too - haven't done a.m. yet, but as I mentioned in a previous post, I'm such a coward that I haven't even told my kids that I'm going without them with my sisters, so I will have to be somehow subtly doing my FPs while getting them off to school! Nothing to see here, kids... Bummer you have to do yours while on vacation, but always worthwhile to be planning a trip!

Turns out we may not go out of town for Spring Break. My DH probably cannot get it off. Too many others have requested it. If I was feeling ambitious, I could take the boys myself. It's only about 5-6 hours. I would do it in a heartbeat with my 5 year old...but not sure about the (almost) 3 year old. If I did, I would stay home for FP booking on Tuesday morning and probably leave sometime that day. Hmmm....time to ponder....

Anybody booked at CSR .... my favorite moderate?

Know how they are tearing down the business class building and some projected DVC, but if you are familiar with resort and that location it made no sense.

Check this out .............. leads credence to rumor that Disney wants to eliminate hotel "levels" in favor of "location/amenity offerings" ....

Am sure won't see a finished product for a couple years but for sure they have begun to demo that section and renovate rooms.
Just wonder what it would bring different as the room size won't change.

Sounds cool! I wonder how these "suites" will be priced? If high $$, I wonder how many will want to pay that and not be as central as say BLT or BWV? I'm sure they have their extensive research to support this move. Will be curious to see it completed!

Interesting. I think Coronado has always been a different moderate because of the convention center and some deluxe type amenities so I guess they decided to sort of reclassify it. And is it the Racheros (I think that's what they were called) that are getting demolished? Those were the furthest out, yes? And not incredibly popular?

No they demolished a Cabanas building closest to the main hub. The new building/tower will go there connected to main hub and the new lobby is supposed to be in the tower. Ranchos are the ones out around the main pool - and my favorites. Highly themed, close to bus, main pool with it's amenities and only 5 minute walk to main hub.

My first stay was about 20 years ago and they were just building Ranchos, we were in Casitas. Feeling sucker punched with this tower ....
