Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

Yay. Booked JBJB Sunday 11/20. I especially enjoy that the tax and gratuity was included in the price! And since it is HS, those drinks can be adult drinks if desired :D Sad that 11/16 was a blackout date as that would have been perfect. But as long as ROL doesn't appear, 11/20 works well.

That date would be perfect for me ..... I'm sitting in a football stadium so removed from phones....

I'm excited about the BAM for my clients, but that leaves more work to do on a very busy weekend!
UGGH! I just tried to find the dessert party for 11/26 and the page keeps crashing.

Come to thin k of it - it all makes sense now. They must be getting ready to set up booking really soon. Here's my experience this week - I apologize if this runs long but only you guys will understand.

I have a trip and of the month (my Mother's Day gift) which is all done planning and everything. What originally started as only one park day for MNSSHP turned into 2 park days plus the party - our closest friends decided to join us, hence why the adjustment. We even extended it thru Nov 1st so we can hit the DVC Halloween party. All the ADRs and FP have been done at 60 days out. Everything was perfect, I got all that we wanted at the right times: FEA, SOARIN, 7D, and even the FP for the day of the party from 4-7pm. I was so happy:love:
Then The bottom dropped out the other night (Tuesday to be exact). I signed in and ALL of the FP I worked so hard to get were GONE!!!! I nearly had a heart attack. I checked on the app, PC, ipad - nothing. They had vanished into thin air!!! The next morning as soon as I woke up I signed in and they were still gone. It wasn't until noon yesterday that all of my plans were back to normal.:thanks:
My guess is that Disney was updating the FP system to now include ROL. Haven't seen it yet though. But since the ROL package showed up today, even for a brief time, it all points to them getting ready to ROL it out.

Thanks for being patient.

So now back to :surfweb: and hanging in the lounge:drinking1
Glad to be back.

IMO, Disney will announce
the Debut of ROL,
for the SLOW period in Jan./early Feb. 2017;

IMO, Disney will announce
the 2017 Debut of ROL
during the week of November 28th, 2016,
OR during the week of Dec. 5th, 2016.

Disney will NOT have to debut a ROL Dining Pkg. until LATER, IMO.

Well BAM is online and looks like next to nothing is left.
The few dates open I don't think I can go ......... well no one can go with me.
Even if they add dates ........... my Gold AP goes into block out after 18th.
Hoping for something that last week but not holding my breath.
Now the question is do I plan a trip to see it without the Dessert Party ....?

wondering about ROL dining packages. has Disney been holding lots of ADRs for the fall in the hopes that ROL would be ready and they could sell dining packages? with all the problems with ROL would not seem cost effective to holding spots they could having paying customers eating meals. We will be there 11/12-11/19 and am trying to figure out options if ROL is open during our trip. Maybe FP+ would be the best option.

Jingle Bell/Bam lent its self to the Dessert party as there were those for the Star Wars show.

The answer is yes!!!! :D If I lived closer, I'd absolutely be planning a trip just to see this show.

well those production events that were on the entertainment events page for CM have been postponed with no new date given :(

we will be at AK 4 weeks from today. kids want to ride EE after dark and we have a 5PM FP+, so standby is short maybe they can ride again if there is no ROL
I'm hoping to do single rider for EE and watch TOL awakening. I guess it'll be an early night for us :)

Was hoping to see ROL for my May 2016 trip, when that was canceled I was hoping to see it for my trip this coming week in October. With no ROL even JB would be something but alas, looks like we'll have nothing. I have another trip planned for May 2017. Guess I can hope ROL is running by then and dining packages are available. Maybe Avatar land will even be open (I guess I shouldn't get my hopes up on that). Maybe I need to order one of those Rumors of Light pins.

I still have a couple outs, in our plans, in case ROL does debut before our trip starting 11/15. That way I can adjust accordingly to see the show. But I have all but lost hope and am settling on a schedule that does not include ROL. The JBJB show and dessert party have actually put my mind at ease and gave me something new to look forward too. Once they announced that show, and only extended AK hours from 7 to 7:30, I gave up crossing my fingers. I get the feeling that ROL needs Pandora to be worth Disney's while. Why else would they shut down Jungle Book and shorten AK hours? I guess Jungle Book wasn't getting the best reviews and therefor not a draw in itself, but AK needs Pandora to be a full day park. And if ROL still has kinks, not much reason to force it out besides to appease those of us who are hoping and praying it opens before our respective trips.

Yes - that's what I am planning on too! I have 2 different sets of dinner reservations for Nov 13th in case ROL doesn't happen. I am beginning to lose hope that it will start in time for our trip also - I only have one night dedicated to AK but am also excited because we booked the dessert party for JBJB the next night.

I have both Lunch and Dinner planned at Tiffins. I'll keep the dinner reservations and stay late if there is ROL. If not, I'll catch the first TOL show then head out...

I kind of have the same strategy only with dining at EPCOT's Rose & Crown for two nights - if ROL is showing, I'll cancel the one for that night and keep the other, but is NO ROL, thinking we'd do our late afternoon FPs, then head back to EPCOT for our R&C and Illuminations.

Any idea what time the TOL starts?

People are suggesting times similar to Fantasmic but I'm thinking earlier.

Man I hope the two weeks thing is accurate. I am leaving in 18 days and that would be a nice surprise. I have two partial days planned at AK, one Tuesday and one Sunday.
