Does she think that is viable? I mean at this point they could have rebuilt a good portion of this thing.

She doesn't know. There are say, 20 different components to get right (lights and sound and engineering and all this other stuff) and everyone is working their butts off on their own area without much regard for the other areas. It seems the biggest issue right know is getting everything together.

Yikes ...... does kinda sound like Disney as a whole, everyone doing their thing not knowing what the others are doing. DS has been wondering if maybe they weren't changing things some too. He said some he talked to who did the CM preview were "meh" and now with JB disaster .... maybe some adjusting. At this point it would be salt in the wound if it's not well received. I'm just thinking maybe a spring date would be better.

I've been MIA (went back to work teaching) the last week or so but I caught up. I'm glad I don't have any fall/winter trips planned. Our trip is planned for June 2017 and I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that that is enough time for Disney to get all this sorted out!

Touring Plans is advertising .....

This attraction is NOT YET OPEN!
It is expected to open sometime around September 15, 2016.

But the park hours just changed are only for 9:00 pm in September
and sunsets are at 7:30 pm so that would mean 1 maybe 2 shows per night.

I'm tempted to believe this. Not sure if it was you or someone else on another thread, but I really don't think they would have announced the end of MSEP unless they were pretty sure RoL was finally coming together and nearly ready to go.

WELL .... I don't bank on any of the blogs, even the big ones. They have all proven to be wrong a fair percentage of the time. This seems too soon. I haven't seen anyone else point to these dates or any September dates. If it's a scoop, I haven't seen them promoting it, I just happened to see on their website. Been minimal reports of testing and no testing more than a few floats at a time. The hours just now get extended but only to 9, will the run just 1 or maybe 2 shows a night?

There have been numerous sources pointing to October, which if you want to make a connect to MSEP makes more sense. Honestly I don't think they are doing any connect between MSEP and ROL in their plans. MSEP was set to start in DL in January, will need to travel and have a good cleaning and repair session. It had to leave October for the plan. With Halloween and Christmas Parties, Food & Wine and the new SW thing ........ it was the perfect time to do it.

So we've discovered that not everything Disney tries will be an immediate smashing success... Or perhaps not even successful at all. Isn't it better that they try different things out over time?? No company is successful EVERY time with EVERY offering!!!

This thread used to be such fun. More of a downer these days. Too bad.

In other news, we just ate at Blaze Pizza at Disney Springs and it was awesome! The pizza itself was amazing, but the salads were really good too. I got a build-your-own pizza and it was so tasty. I would also recommend the blood orange lemonade.

We've needed a good pizza place here for a while!

I think people are just getting fed up with things being cancelled and plans being messed up and the general chaos that planning a WDW vacation seems to have become.

I'm still confident that RoL will be awesome when it comes, it's just a shame the constant delays have kind of put a damper on it for now.

I get the challenge with vacation planning. We were in WDW in Apr for SW half and are here now.

But how fast people jump to worst case, talk of money "wasted", etc is making this thread like so many others on DIS -- where it used to be a bit of a break. Lighthearted commiserating vs YET EVEN MORE "downer" talk.

At least that's my feeling. This and the SW thread were bright spots for me personally. I think I'm down to just the SW thread, unfortunately.

Glad if it's still fun for others, but I think I clearly need another DIS break!

And all I know is that we are here now, and having as awesome a time as we ever have over who knows how many trips over the last 11yrs!!

Isn't that the truth! I can't wait to try it in a couple weeks. It looks so GOOD!

After exploring Disney Springs in May (had D Luxe Burger, YUM!) I was saying future trips park days might have to be planned around eating at DS. So many awesome options!!

@MickeyMinnieMom ... Glad you're having a great trip!

I pretty much only follow three threads here on the Dis (News Round Up, Everything Star Wars, and this one of course), and while the other two are great, neither is quite this one. Sure, there's been some "downer talk" recently, but maybe that's because we're all pretty comfortable with each other here.

The challenges that prompted this thread's creation way back when have not been resolved and have actually been joined by other vacation planning frustrations, so it stands to reason people are gonna be upset. (I know for me personally, it's a bit of prepare for the worst and hope for the best ... and my next trip to WDW likely won't be until 2020!)

We have been happy to host “The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic” this summer and will be saying a fond farewell to this limited engagement show on September 5. We thank the talented Cast who brought it to life along Discovery River.

As we approach fall, park hours will fluctuate with the season but we are excited to continue to offer Kilimanjaro Safaris from park open to park close, Harambe Wildlife Parti and Discovery Island Carnivale and the awakening of the Tree of Life.

Now I feel it wasn't a mistake for us booking the latest possible ADR @ the Yak & Yeti, thus far, for 2 of our AK days.
Currently, the Disney calendar has AK closing @ 6pm in Nov.,
but based on the newly updated Sept. hours,
there should be @ least 1 ROL per evening

I Second your Blaze comment. My daughter and I had it the other day and it is very good. She had the high rise dough and I had the regular, thin one. And the Aguas Frescas were so refreshing.
