I knowwww that's the week we are going. I'm not a MSEP fan, but I bet it's gonna make getting a good spot for CtM and Wishes realllly tough. Hopefully I'll still be on a happy sugar high from my Star Wars dessert party the night before. Oh wait, no times available for that yet. Thanks Disney, thanks a lot.

It really burns me up that instead of adding something to promote the park they take away something and use that as a promotion...here's the quote from the disney parks blog "We wanted you to be among the first to know while there’s still time to plan a trip to Walt Disney World Resort to enjoy the magic and nostalgia of the parade one last time."

Hey, I have an idea...how about they unbox all the Osborne lights that didn't get shipped back to the Osborne family, and put them up in Main Street???? That would be cool...I'd actually like that better than a parade...

Well, taking away Osborne lights last year really bumped up their attendance. Maybe they're hoping MSEP leaving can do the same thing.

Hopefully the castle is too big to go away.

I don't think the uproar is coming from the DL guests - it's coming from DL CMs. The hourly cast being pissed might not cause the switch to be cancelled, but higher up saying they don't want to lose the parade might put a halt on things.

Agree, I mean they found out before all others. But DL is nothing like the WDW base ... it is a big AP park, it needs AP holders and those AP holders go often and loosing that parade is a huge blow. Upper has to deal with the guest backlash, and it is there. On here, on blog posts etc the DL guests are being very vocal.

People jump so quickly to assuming nothing will replace it and this is all about saving money. Might be right, but isn't it a tad early to assume? I know patience is no longer a virtue these days, but geez.

Oh I absolutely believe there will be a replacement but now I don't think it will be until 2017 and that date can vary depending on what they come up with. Existing or new is a game changer.

If they hadn't added AK night and the SW Projection/Fireworks, I would have said it was possible night hours at MK were shrinking. I mean they now offer Disney Springs for your night time pleasure. But lots of options can happen and at this point they either don't know what they are going to do OR the plan will continue as they keep blowing "smoke" to diffuse the fire they have started.

I think the fury is from all booked the next 5 mos or so that already forfeit MK at night for the huge number of parties and now they have no night parade, still no ROL .....

I think Disney risks people making that assumption when they take away something popular with not even a hint of what might follow, not even a hint that something will indeed follow.

I agree with this-we booked our trip 11 months in advance (DVC members) and with just over 2 months to go we find out that the construction at BWV that was supposedly ending by this summer will be ongoing during our trip, MK will have no night parade (I assume they won't have a new parade in place 1 week after MSEP ends), and at this point AK is still scheduled to close at 7 every night (and sunset is at like 6:55). It is just frustrating that Disney vacations require so much advance planning and then Disney changes things so late in the game. Clearly they didn't decide yesterday the parade was leaving-yet they waited until 60 days from when it was leaving to make the announcement just like the delayed (or new) construction at BWV-they wait until it's pretty much too late for people to change their plans before making he announcement. While I am annoyed I know we will be back and something is always undergoing refurbishment-but I can understand that someone taking a "once in a lifetime trip" might be livid-MNSSHP tickets are quite pricey and it appears for Oct guests after the 9th that's their only option for a nighttime parade at MK.

THIS IS A RUMOR, A CALIFORNIA PARK FOLK DISCUSSION .....

The powers that be were very upset to lose PTN to their popular younger sister,
and they want to keep the PTN there but - MSEP is def coming there .
So what to do? other than stomp your feet.
Oh wait .... PTN moves ............ are you ready? to CA.
PTN and World of Color in one park, Fireworks and MSEP in the other.
That will show that younger sister.

I mean, who ever thought Elsa would be in Norway and Mickey might get his own ride .......

I actually am quite amused that anyone would think Disney would run 2 night parades in side by side parks.

And I'm not sure I even count the fireworks show they are proposing as a full fledged show.

Just read a report that JB is officially ending on 9/5 so they can continue testing on ROL. No open date for ROL mentioned, but did say the other nighttime activities at AK would continue. No idea if there's any truth in this, but thought I'd pass it along. I'd assumed JB would continue until ROL started? But perhaps Disney is getting rid of all nighttime entertainment....???
