Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

SO .... went to SW to see "animals" today. Cheap tickets. Never been on the coasters. Just DS2 and I so no one to sit out. WELL Loungers I never thought I'd get the chance to see RoL.

Manta, kept lifting and dropping and finally decided our train was broken so moved us to other. I should have quit while ahead. Next Kraken. Got to TOP of huge lift hill and stopped. Hot sun, hungry and I am MORTIFIED of heights. I can do coasters cause they move. Since the Busch Gardens thing a few weeks ago - many convo on how they would get me off. I won't let you near me. It was like karma. After 10 minutes I was doing some heavy trying to chill myself. Terrified we'd have to walk down the steps that you can see through.

Finally after about 25 minutes of working my tan, they announced we were moving. They met us with ice water and multiple re-ads. Great ride but yeah my coaster days (minus RnR) could be over.

This was where I had my near death experience ...

So.....rethinking that stop at Sea World we had planned....

I just read the dining package for Jungle Book you enter at the entrance is near Dinoland. Where is the FP entrance? I just wondered because we have an EE FP right before our Jungle Book FP and was hoping they were close so we wouldn't have to walk a mile lol.

Loungers I have a question. I got very lucky yesterday. I finally got a TH dinner for one of our AK nights and Tiffins for the second. My dh is very unsure about the Tiffins menu. We have quite a bit of "exotic" food planned for the trip asain, indian, african, tex mex etc. So here's the question should I cancel Tiffin's now or wait a few weeks for reviews of both the restaurant and show? I think I want to try Tiffin's. thnx

i think i'd keep it, just in case the reviews convince you. imagine you cancel it now, then ou like the reviews and try booking it but sold out. are both JB tickets? or just one of them?

Both are JB. I think you have a point, it may be a good idea to keep both for now. Besides if the first show gets rained out, we'll have back up

Does anyone think I've got any chance of getting a 8am booking at Th now? Despite trying for hours before and after release I only got the 10.40 which I thought might be ok but I've since read that there will be little breakfast items out at that time as they will be starting to put lunch out and the kids would be gutted not to get the tusker breakfast.

I'd grab the 10:40 so you have something and then keep trying for and earlier one. That's what I did with BOG when my dh decided he wanted dinner there well after our 180 day mark. I started with 9pm and little by little 3 moves I now have a 7pm not perfect but not bad. Good luck

here's my take on scoring dining reservations....

When they are first released, I know that many folks don't have all their plans concrete yet, so often they reserve multiple times and days for the ones they know they really want to do at some point in their vacation. Once plans finalize, they will release the ones they find they don't need.

There is a dis forum for just this. People will post when they are going to release one, with date, time and number in reservation so that others who are interested can coordinate a drop and grab. I've done this many times, and have been mostly successful in getting the ones I wanted. If you take a look in the DINING section, under reservations, there are separate threads for each month. Join and just start watching for the time and date you want. DO NOT POST THAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR ONE - that is strictly against the rules. Only posts allowed are for announcing a release so that the dropper and the grabber can private message and coordinate.

Also, for those who are not on that forum, just keep watching. Check multiple times a day. Sometimes something will just pop up when you least expect it, but it can make you crazy....

Keep trying and Good luck...

Yea, that would end my roller coaster days. But RnR ended them for 10 years. I got on EE and SM for the first time this week. Will never do RnR again.

OH my to all those that got stuck on a coaster. It would be the death of me. I love coasters but I am seriously afraid of heights.

My DS7 and I got stuck on Test Track right after where they simulate aerodynamics a couple of weeks ago. I was mortified. My DS11 and DD3 were waiting in the exit area playing and I had NO reception in the ride to text my DS11 that we were stuck. About a half hour after we stopped a CM finally came and said they'd be collecting people now and then we would go down a couple flights of stairs. Horror - I have a serious problem doing stairs due to my injury. I told the CM and she asked if I needed assistance, she'd radio for someone. I told I'd like to look at the stairs first and then decide because really, I didn't know what to except. Fire escape? Regular stairway? I wanted to see first before I decided what to do. She then said my son and I could go last with her so we could take the time we needed. I did end up walking down the stairs myself because it was a regular staircase but let me say, a couple of flights was very optimistic. It was more like 5 flights. It took us an hour from getting in line to getting to the exit. My DS11 and DD3 were sitting near the show cars patiently waiting for us. My DS11 had found the courage and gone up to a CM to ask what had happened in his broken English when we didn't show. A CM actually sat with them when my Son had communicated we were stuck on the ride. I was so proud of him! But it sure left me with an uneasy feeling every time I left them waiting afterwards. It was the only time we got stuck but it sure was scary.

we got stuck on People Mover one time...at least it wasn't in one of the dark tunnels. They kept announcing to stay seated, and eventually, (1/2 hours or so) a CM came for us and took us to the escape stairway right by Spaceship Earth. Nothing scary, but it did seem to take a lot of time for them to decide to off load people.

I could get stuck on a normal ride with no issue but definitely not a rollercoaster. We've been stuck on Peter Pan and Haunted Mansion several times for a long time but never had to get out. I think getting out would scare me.

Sooo.. are we thinking ROL will start right after JB? Because if I don't get to see either on my September trip, it will be ugly.
