Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

This anticipation seems to really be getting me and I can't even distinguish February and March anymore. Sorry guys, I was over on the DIBB for something else and got an alert there and saw that. I really thought it said March 27th and was so hyper I came here to post.... I've never heard May 1st mentioned before so I was super excited when I read something new :guilty:
No harm. I'm mostly just jaded and not believing anything posted by the blog sites any more. Until it comes from Disney I'm remaining calm

It appears my first post didn't pass moderation (although it was exactly the same as some others so maybe it will show up eventually) but here is my take 2

Who stole the ROL FPs?
What postponed the Tiffins opening?
Who makes the finest ROL dining package?
What’s in your AK plan itinerary?
Mysteries of life, waiting to be solved
We’re here in our ROL Lounge pins, trying to get involved!

Here's hoping BB-8 can put on his mystery detective trench coat and find out information for us!

That's good...I see our good buddy Keith scored again too!

Me too. Le sigh! I honestly don't know what to do anymore. Do I go to AK in the morning and DS in the evening or opposite? I'm not sure what to do anymoreeeee!
Well, at least it's DS so that should be easy to switch up if things are up and running by the time your trip rolls around

We have 4/15 set aside for AK and I went on and planned it to be the 2nd half of the day. If we can by some miracle stay in the park late we will. If we can't, we'll head back to the resort for some swimming. Or maybe walk over to MK after we get back (we'll be at CR).

For my May trip I'm leaving it all up in the air and plan to head to AK as many times as we can if the night stuff is going

Here's the thing (for me; it may not be the same for others): All of your posts on this thread have sounded very condescending and I have to say that this one was the worst of the bunch (and yes, I've ready every post in this thread, from every poster). If you had read all of the posts on this thread, you would have known that most of us have back up plans depending on what happens with RoL and we will use them if needed, thereby staying "fluid and flexible" as you say we all need to. Our frustrations come from not knowing yet whether we need to go with those back-up plans and therefore do what we need to so that we can cancel our original plans while still playing by Disney's rules (ie cancel ADR's, make FP+'s, etc) and this thread is a place for us to commiserate and celebrate those plans together. I can understand if that is not your bag of chips, but please do not speak to those of us who have a pantry full of those chips in a way that makes your disdain for us so clear.

We all know that there is more than one way to plan and all of us have shared our ways throughout this thread without anyone being made to feel as if they were being attacked by another poster. Suggestions are more than welcome, but none of your posts have sounded like suggestions. In the end, each of your posts sounded to me like a dressed up way of saying "Geeze you people are stupid. Stop worrying about RoL and just go do something else. It's not that big a deal and you are wasting your time."

And there are enough of us who have heard what posters on the other threads and blogs think of us, that you do not need to come here to make your opinion known. We know that we are all a bit kooky and that is fine with us. We are having fun while we wait and there is nothing wrong with that. You aren't being forced to buy a t-shirt and button afterall.

And the fact that you stated your sincerity completely negates any actual sincerity in your previous words and actually sounds as if you mean the opposite.
:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1Let it go! Let it Go!:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

I pretty much made our AK day a "free day" so we can go either way. We do have an ADR for dinner at OKW but we can change that pretty easy. If nothing is going to be open yet it makes it easy! lol

I had e-mailed George K., as well, over the weekend. Just heard back from "Austin" who said he was calling at the request of Mr. Kalogridis at the Walt Disney Resort to let me know that they still don't have any information and are hoping to know more so they can update us either at the end of this week or early next week. He said they don't have any information at this point and have no information to give out. The same report as everyone else. He said they would call back as soon as they have more information. He was very pleasant and I thanked him profusely for responding.....Then he said it is job security for him and he was happy to do it!

On the personal front, why does there always have to be a big home expense right before a trip? Hot water heater is leaking, and will likely need replacing .......Internet dish was knocked out with the storms over the weekend. :(

Traveling with DH, DS11 & DS6.

1 early arrival day at CBR.
1 day at MK with BOG ADR.
1 day at EP.
1 last park day at AK.
DS & late departure.

I'm really hoping for our last park day at AK to be a magical goodbye with ROL. I'd rather not spend the $200+ for our family to upgrade to parkhoppers just for a nighttime show but I will if necessary. Do you have any beautiful nighttime plan suggestions outside of the parks, just in case ROL doesn't pan out?

I'm definitely going to put that one on my list...I've never done it either, but since both of us are "natural" gardeners, I'm sure it would be very interesting!
We had a lot of fun doing it. My son was maybe 9yrs old at the time, but we watch a lot of Food Network so he caught the guides off guard a few times being able to identify some exotic fruit or what type of plant something was!! :rotfl: Lots of fun!

When are you scheduled to go? I've always wanted to go to the Boardwalk at night to see the entertainment and walk around

May 7 - 11. We stayed at Disney Dolphin last May. We didn't DO an evening at the Boardwalk but that whole Epcot Resort area is beautiful at night. That is one of the things I am considering. You can see Illuminations fireworks from some of the area.

Does this show have FastPass+ or is it just a rumor?
The person who writes the Disney Park Blog confirmed there will be FP for the show (at some point)

Yep. We did taxes last night and while we don't have to pay tons, it's more than we thought it would be. Thankfully, my Mom's trip is paid for since we've already paid the resorts, bought tickets and I have gift cards to cover 90% of our meals and such.

We have a 5:55 ADR for Tusker House on a 6pm AK close night 5/2... so if nothing is open after dinner, we're heading to Disney Springs to try to catch the 9 pm La Nouba!

Not a cheap option, but planning to buy discounted La Nouba giftcards from raise.com ( http://geta.raise.com/pbell3 -- we both get $5, if allowed lol -- I'll delete my bonus link if it's not!) if we go that route!

Edit: Ouch, cirque gift cards are only 5% off currently, but I've seen it over 15% maybe ven 30% off. Maybe I should stop telling people my "secret methods" :rolleyes1
