Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

So I was for sure thinking today would be the day because I was in a car accident - car flipped on its side, I was pulled out the window, and amazingly enough, I'm totally fine - this morning and my phone was somewhere in the car! Glad I am ok and that I didn't miss anything!
I'm glad you're both ok and didn't miss anything. The you being ok is far more important.

Wow - That's terrifying - I'm so sorry to hear that - glad that you're unharmed!

Glad to hear you are ok! Car accident is always a scare. I was in one last August. Sadly didn't go as smooth as yours :(

You do know that the San Angel Inn in Epcot is owned and operated by the same firm that operates the Restaurante San Angel in Mexico City? There may be other reasons for avoiding the San Angel Inn (tightly packed tables, reports of inconsistency in food and slow service), and it's possible that they've dumbed down the menu and recipes, but I wouldn't cite authenticity alone as a reason to avoid them.

Yes, I know. The food looks to be poor quality and does look to be dumbed down to me. That's my personal opinion. Plus, if I can get really great, authentic Mexican food (Not talking about Tex-Mex here. I am talking about a restaurant run by a well-known chef from Mexico, who is also a James Beard award winner.) locally without the hassle, wait, and prices of Disney, I am going for that. Also, there are many other places and cuisines that are harder to come by locally, that I would prefer to try at Epcot. I just wanted to preface my opinion, so that the PP would know that I can't speak to San Angel but could speak to the food booths.

OH NO...that's horrible. Glad you are ok!

Glad you are okay and that you didn't miss any reservations:) Stay safe. Be careful out there me fine feathered friends:)

THNX this is the first time I'm hopping since it was included in the cost of a basic ticket. My boys talked my dh into springing for WP and hopping because of the deal we got on the tickets.

We love park hopping. We also love heading to the waterpark in the afternoon just to cool off and relax a bit! We often start at one park, head to water park, then pop over to a different park for the evening.

Oh no! I am so glad you are ok!! That sounds horrible and could have been worse than it was. Thankfully you didn't get injured!

Good to know on food stations at EP! Thanks everyone! I just looked at Kenny the pirates post on what foods are at the stations and the alcohol options look really fun (i.e. pineapple softserve with coconut rum, rose margarita)! We were considering San Angel just because of the atmosphere - would be fun for the kids and a nice place to sit down. Just checked out the menu and really might consider ordering off the kids menu, if I can, and then still be able to enjoy the food stations. EP is our last day so we are hoping to take it a bit easier. If the new FEA ride and meet doesn't open, it honestly isn't going to bother me really. If it does my DD will be happy but then we'll be looking at larger crowds and I'm guessing long lines for the food stations. So, I guess we'll play it by ear.

There have been days where we start at EMH at one park, and by the time we hit our room at night, we have hit all 4. That was pretty early on in our Disney vacation trips, but occasionally, maybe on the last day, especially if we are looking for one more ride on "X", or that elusive "unique souvenir" thing we saw SOMEWHERE..(although now, that's not very common anymore now, with almost every store carrying the very same stuff that every other store has).

FWIW, the quick service in Mexico (La Cantina) is really good. There is an indoor seating area back around the corner that we found on our last trip. We ate there on our Food and Wine days last year just to have something of substance in our bellies.

Am I in trouble? We have 3 EMH days planned. AK am and MK and EPCOT night. We'll be hopping out of AK by 10 am and into the other 2 about an hour prior to the start.
There is so little open at Epcot for EMH I wouldn't bother. The morning EMH aren't as bad, provided you leave once they are over.

Blech! I thought the food at the QS in Mexico was horrific. But we do like San Angel a lot. It is not typical Americanized Mexican food though so it may not appeal to many

I hope when this does become available someone will start a new thread with that info. (fingers crossed)
There is one already

A sense of humor is always good. I just don't know why he doesn't scrap his site and start easyUNIVERSAL instead. I'm so over his rudeness and negativity. Sorry. :crazy2:
I so agree with you. I've been following Josh since he started his site but he's crossed over in to the hate on Disney, they can't do anything right group and it's annoying. They aren't perfect but they aren't always wrong either.

Oh my word, so glad you are ok. There was a horrific accident in front of my office last month. Those drivers weren't as lucky as you. Hope you aren't too sore tomorrow

This is why we won't bother with Teppan Edo again. We have 3 cook at your table restaurants here in town. I didn't want to but did it to cross it off our list. Turned out the chef we got had worked here in my small podunk town prior to going to Disney. What we get here was identical to what we got there. So it's not worth our time or money to go there too
