Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

I leave in 21 days. I just want to see the floating lanterns gleam. Is that too much to ask?
OMG, this is GOLDEN! :rotfl2:

My DS7 came home from school today totally excited: "MOMMY! You can meet Elsa at Disney World!" Oh dear..... :faint: We most definitely won't score a FP+ for that M&G. Maybe I'll just tell him the Frozen show is where you can meet Elsa. There is NO WAY I will wait for two hours just to meet Elsa. I just hope we don't have to wait two hours to see ROL then either if they don't do dining packages or FP+ when we go.
Others have already chimed in now, but I've randomly checked "same-day" and "within the next few days" FP+ and seen spontaneous A&E FP+ pop up. :) There is hope! But it may not fall on a MK day, or be a late night or something.

Why can't you get a FP? I've scored them only weeks out before. Or head there right at RD or during a parade for less wait. It's not 2+ hours anymore.

We can only book FP+ 30 days out since we are staying off-property. FP+ are usually gone by then. If we see a short wait time for this, of course will we do it. M&G never have been the thing for us and we rarely did them (unless it was a really short wait or walk-up). I know he'll be disappointed if he has to wait an hour and all he gets is a photo - he's always been like that and he's probably gonna be the same with Elsa. So I rather take them on a ride that will leave them with a wow effect than spend that hour on a M&G that will be a mediocre experience for them. Yes, we are an odd family....

I've about decided your family and mine are the only ones who do. They could turn every EMH in to a paid event and it won't mean a thing to me. We avoid EMH parks at all times. Now, I do not believe they will turn EMH to a paid only event, I believe these are in addition to EMH. But EMH has nothing at all to do with why we stay on site. Clearly, that is not the norm (which is exactly why we avoid EMH, most do go to that park for them)
We avoid EMH parks too. It's actually recommended to avoid them, especially pm ones. It's like Disney telling you where thousands of people are going. Lol

Not odd, you just have priorities. I'm not wasting a fp on a M&G but if I see a line that's not too long I'll hop on it!

Trying to decide whether we want to keep our San Angel Inn ressie or go to the food stations at Epcot Flower and Garden. Any thoughts on what the food is like at either?

We have not eaten at San Angel. Being from Texas and having access to authentic, interior Mexican food, I can't bring myself to eat there. However, we have eaten at the F&G food booths two years now. They are excellent. It's nice to get to try a variety of stuff too, since the dishes are smaller. You could eat one meal or snacks at the booths and still do a meal at San Angel, if you are going to be at Epcot long enough.

Am I in trouble? We have 3 EMH days planned. AK am and MK and EPCOT night. We'll be hopping out of AK by 10 am and into the other 2 about an hour prior to the start.

No, you're not in trouble. You're doing EMH the right way. Some people don't have park hoppers. For those people, they should avoid EMH. But going to EMH, then hopping elsewhere is a good way to do it.

We are of the "avoid emh" too. I mean, I'm a night owl so the nighttime emh might be worth it but with two kids under 5, that's not gonna fly.

That's how we did Story Tales with Belle last time. The wait time was horrendous throughout our whole trip (120+ mins - it was brand new). I told them, we're not gonna do it. Very last night we walk by and the sign says 20 mins wait! In we went and we did have a good time :) I am hopeing the same for Anna and Elsa and any other M&G there is. Chance encounters :) I just don't want to get the kids all hyped up beforehand because then I know they will be disappointed if we don't get to do it.

THNX this is the first time I'm hopping since it was included in the cost of a basic ticket. My boys talked my dh into springing for WP and hopping because of the deal we got on the tickets.

You do know that the San Angel Inn in Epcot is owned and operated by the same firm that operates the Restaurante San Angel in Mexico City? There may be other reasons for avoiding the San Angel Inn (tightly packed tables, reports of inconsistency in food and slow service), and it's possible that they've dumbed down the menu and recipes, but I wouldn't cite authenticity alone as a reason to avoid them.

I hope when this does become available someone will start a new thread with that info. (fingers crossed)

That depends on if there is going to be 2 shows and you're willing to wait up. How busy will it be when you're there. How bad is waiting an hour and a half going to feel to you. BTW don't give up ADRs open up at times so keep checking.

Early May so one showing. We'd be going on a recommended night per EasyWDW. Will not do any more than a 45 minute wait. DS4 does not have the patience, focus, anything else to wait much longer(and neither do I!).

Last year we lucked out because my mom was slightly disabled(had one of those roller walkers that she could also sit on and be rolled around when her back gave her problems) so we got to skip all the lines and go to a pretty prime section.

A sense of humor is always good. I just don't know why he doesn't scrap his site and start easyUNIVERSAL instead. I'm so over his rudeness and negativity. Sorry. :crazy2:
