Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

Went into guest relations before leaving, she said it's still scheduled to open on the 22nd, no idea about previews and no idea when fp will open for booking. ...she also very sincerely said "we are the last to know about those things"

I believe her. A friend of mine works at Mama Melrose and a while back, I text him to ask if he thought the restaurant would stay open with all the construction, or if he thought there was a chance it could be re-themed for the Muppets. He text back and said they'd find out when they showed up to work one day and were handed their Muppets costumes! Front line CMs and their managers, sadly, do seem to be the last to find out anything.

My theory behind the MK After Hours "Party" ...

Disney is using this ploy as an experiment to see how much people will be willing to pay for the perks they normally offer to their hotel guests, such as Extra Magic Hours. Disney is ultimately planning to roll this out completely into all parks, allowing non hotel guests to pay a high price to enjoy things like EMH. Just like magic bands are free to hotel guests, but anyone can purchase and use them for $22.99.

Disney then will start charging the much anticipated "resort fee" which will then be easier for most people to swallow because $15 dollars will seem like a bargain compared to the "regular price" of these benefits.

The ice cream novelties are just a cover so they can call this a "party" and not "Extra Magic Hours for Extra Money."

Is this new burger place table service? It's not showing under dining on disney site

Does this mean that EMH for resort guests will be even busier? Or do you think they will run them on separate evenings?

I can't see them announcing a date and then not following through with it. Disney usually waits as long as they can before announcing a date.

I don't think announcing a date and then pulling back is far fetched for Disney any more based on recent history of Disney cancelling guests' March Club Villian reservations, refunding their money, then rescheduling the March Club Villian at a higher cost and "allowing" those guests to rebook for more money

It's obvious that Disney managment has changed how Disney will handle their "guests" going forward and it ain't lookin good people.

I'm pretty sure that those who had booked CV for March and had their reservations canceled were offered the ability to re-book at the original price.

I understand and agree but right now based on how it's looking I don't see why it wouldn't be ready for the 22nd.

Club Villain guests who had been cancelled were allowed to book the same dates at the original price.

DVC/AP members already booked for the discounted dates at the higher price were permitted to call and have the price reduced to the DVC/AP discounted price.
