Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

Another lurker here, I've been lurking/following along since about page 50, it's certainly been interesting watching this unfold. Last Monday I added an extra day to my Universal trip to do 1.5 days at Disney with ROL being the priority. I've been obsessively checking this thread for days just waiting for news on hours, dining, fastpasses, anything! Well, not anything. The costumes are great and all, but come on... Give me something I can work with! I look forward to continuing this journey with you all, but hopefully it's a short one.

To get my mind off ROL I started checking out the other night time activities at AK. I noticed they only listed 3 rides that will be open. The Kilimanjaro Safari, Everest, and Kali. Is this all that will be open? If that is all that will be open lines will be a mile long.

I'm guessing those are just the 3 top rides that they chose to highlight in the marketing. It's highly likely pretty much the whole park will be open except possibly the 2 trails and maybe Flights of Wonder due to the animals needing downtime. It's also possible that Nemo and Lion King will only have a couple of extra shows added and maybe Conservation Station and the train will be closed. I can't see them not opening the Dino area. It's theming is perfect for the nighttime atmosphere.

I have been following this thread since the beginning many many pages ago. I too have been disappointed by the lack of any kind of planning details. Just hoping something works out for the people traveling during the opening week. We live not to far away from the parks so that takes some of the stress out of it, but I really want to see it! Haven't monitored something so closely since Minnie's Holiday Dinner, oh wait Star Wars Weekend Dining, and the Osborne Lights Dinner Party, and Food & Wine Events. I fall for it every time! Good luck all!

Hello. Long time lurker here, first time poster. Big Disney fan - got engaged to a wonderful lady in MK last Christmas and scheduled our Disney wedding planning session for early May, which was going to be a simple 3 day visit without much planning needed...

NOPE. ROL! Tiffins! Midnight? 6 AM! Repeat. Thank you all for contributing to this thread, which is 166 pages of group therapy. Hope everyone stays strong.

Thank you for this!! So happy to go to bed on a good Disney note for a change. I was really hoping for Star Wars fireworks of any kind during my May trip. That takes the sting out of inability to plan the rest of my trip ever so slightly...

Yep! With the extension of the Galatic dessert party, we're super excited to see all the new HS stuff. DH especially!

I saw this too, but can't find anything about this anywhere else. Does anyone have confirmation that this is true? How reliable is this info? Fingers crossed he's right!

Sorry to drag on about an off topic item… but who is Josh and can you share the exact website where he posted this news? I just went onto the Disney website and the times for the fireworks are not showing up past 4/30. The dessert party is not extended past 4/30 either. All dates after 4/30 are grayed out. Maybe Disney has not updated the website yet?

Thanks. I do hope this is true. If the extension of the fireworks is related to AK night hours / ROL launch as Josh suggests, maybe the delays on updating the website all around (DHS and AK) are hinging on ROL finalization.

Who knows. I'm going to bed and will be checking again for DHS and AK related items at 6 am when I get up.

OMG this is AWESOME news to wake up to! My boys will be over the moon to see this! I'm waiting for Disney to announce this though before I tell them. Or I may not tell them at all and just make it a trip surprise. We were so pissed when we heard SWW were canceled so this would make up for it at least some.
