According to a thread on the DIS Le Cellier maybe going to signature dining later this year. Apparently, the CMs who work there were told by management this change would occur. No word for sure if the menu will change significantly, or if the restaurant will go through a refurbishment...Only speculation at this point. No official word from Disney on these changes.

Hmmm very interesting. I think the place has to do A LOT to be the same caliber experience as the other signatures. The food quality and service are no where near the level as the other signatures. Hopefully this means positive changes.

very interesting indeed- thanks for sharing.

Hmm, that is interesting. I guess that will make it a lot easier to get a reservation. I'll add that restaurant to my list of places I'm glad that I've visited before they got too big for their britches. The food is good, and we enjoy it, but certainly not worth a signature meal.

I agree with both of you. They'll need to make some upgrades to their menu. Plus, get better cuts of Canadian beef before I consider it a 2 credit table service restaurant.

My experience there would not rank anywhere close to that of the signature restaurants on property. They would have to make significant changes to the food quality and service to get to that caliper of restaurant, in my opinion.

I agree with Nicole on her post.

Hope it's not by august or I'll be cancelling my ADR. Already used up all my dining credits so would be a big annoyance if I have to change our lunch reservation :(

:goodvibes

Well they had better become the Narcoossee's of Epcot or no one will eat there for 2 Tables.

They have a long way to go to change their image of serving mediocre food.

How disappointing. We ate there for the first time this past March and really liked it. But I don't think it qualifies as a 2 credit meal.

Always have and always will choose the Yachtsman over Le Cellier, even if changes are made and it does go signature. Food and atmos so much better at Yachtsman, for a similar price

Totally agree with you on this.. Good meal but 2 table service credits worthy?? I don't think so!

We have an ADR there for lunch in December....even for 1 TS it isn't worth a dinner IMO. SErvice and quality are going to need a major revamp if that is true. Not to mention, how about they do something with those antique bathrooms?

I'll believe it when I see it. Folks on the restaurant brd have been wishing this for years. LC has it's "rabit" ;) followers who's vacation's are ruined it the don't eat here. The food, service, & atmosphere are no where near a Jiko or CA Grill...

:3dglasses

Hmm...

Perhaps the tomato "stack" appetizer will go back to being a, you know, stack of tomato slices instead of just the ONE slice they changed it to....

IMO, if they could just return the menu and the quality of food to what it was about five or six years ago it could qualify as "signature".

Wasn't Le Cellier considered a signature/2TS meal a few years back? I am almost positive it once was and think it'd be ridiculous to become that again. The food is not worth all of the hype. It's a good restaurant, but not spectacular.

I don't think this one will happen. This restaurant is booked solid as it is. However, I don't think it will be if it becomes a 2 credit restaurant. None of the signature restaurants now are booked solid and they are tiers above Le Cellier in quality and service.

I can say this - DH LOVES Le Cellier, so it's a must do for us every trip. But if it goes to a 2 credit, we'd stop going there. And we don't even get the dining plan. We're just not that into food and the expense isn't worth it to us.

I think it would be strange for it to be the only signature restaurant in all of the World Showcase. Would that mean other WS restaurants would go down this path?

I wouldn't be surprised. The TS restaurant over in the Italy pavilion is already over priced. I have had no luck getting into Le Cellier over the past 5 years, but considering the reviews I've heard recently, I guess I didn't miss anything. I live in the Washington DC area, and I've lived in Texas too. I've had excellent steak, so if its not supreme... who needs it!:confused3 I heard the service isn't up to par. I'm actually waiting with eager anticipation for the Hacienda De San Angel. I think that will be a more exciting development.

But, what if the quality of the food improved dramatically ?

Bigger, better cuts of juicier steaks, the return of more high end dishes ... Improved service, atmosphere and the overall "feel" of the place...

I think *any* restaurant in Epcot has the potential to be fantastic. To go from, "pretty good" to "WOW". This is how most of the restaurants in World Showcase used to be years and years ago. IMO, Disney has slowly lulled it's guests into this sort of accepted mediocrity.

As our economy slowly improves, (hopefully) I feel that Disney is poised to "up the ante" at it's most popular restaurants. Le Cellier certainly tops that list.

After eating at Brown Derby I don't think Signature restaurants belong in the parks, but that being said, I'll look forward to the overblown hype dying down if this does happen.
