Starbucks nationwide said they will have 85% of their stores open by the end of the week, not necessarily DS but they are opening nationwide.

I'll add one other thing. Like you didn't read every word of it but what it did give me a better feel for is just how many details have to be worked out and new procedures made accross the board. Way more then I even thought about. We focus more on fireworks, parades, etc. but there are a ton of things behind the scenes that will also need to be evaluated like when you have multiple employees using a single POS Terminal. Just a lot more things accross the board that I had never given throught to and goes to show how big a job Disney has to do in order to be ready to open safely and then when they get called back train people on these new procedures. That was one of my big takeaways - it feels like a rabbit whole where as you keep getting more and more scenarios that pop up with "well what about this? and what about that?" - like if we need to clean the credit card reader between guests then what should we do about the single terminal all servers enter orders on?. It's going to be a massive job working through all his and that document gave me at least a much better idea how massive it really it.

I agree, which is why I wrote yesterday that a June 1st opening seemed so unlikely since Disney had not called any front line staff back for their next schedule period. That leaves only a week or so prior to June 1st where front line staff would be called back. There are so many considerations and procedures that will need to be updated and discriminated. I can't see how all that can be done in just one week. I'm a logistics coordinator of sorts where I work, so I'm viewing this from that standpoint.

I just read this latest info out of Florida specific to theme parks. However what it does not mention is dates. Simply wanted to share.

A task force appointed by officials in Orange County, Fla., has developed a preliminary set of guidelines for the phased reopening of Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resorts, among other theme parks, when they eventually resume operations.

The Orange County Economic Task Force, which was created on April 17 to oversee the county’s approach to reopening business, met virtually on Tuesday afternoon to discuss their recommendations, which would apply to both larger theme parks, such as Disney World, Universal and Sea World, as well as smaller attractions.

Among the recommendations, the task force developed a number of both “guidelines” and “mandates,” including:
Guidelines:

• “Tape marking of six feet apart in ride/attraction queues”
  [*]“Staff to regularly wipe down surfaces at random”

Mandates:

• • “All employees required to wear face masks”
  • “Touchless hand sanitizer at each ticketing entry and turnstiles”
  • “Touchless hand sanitizer at each ride/attraction entry and exit”
  • “Temperature checks for staff prior to shift (temp above 100.4 must not enter premises)”
  • “All employees with flu-like symptoms advised to stay home”
  • “Wipe down of all railings and surfaces regularly”

Let me first preface this with info from a furloughed cast member and therefore not official. According to his manager Disney will reopen when the state releases the 50% capacity level. Disney will not open at the 25% level. Cannot speculate on the timing to reach the 50% level. Simply wanted to share.

You can make reservations at Hard Rock Cafe for the 11th. As I told the other poster, there is no way I’m telling my kids that. I guess we’ll know next week either way!

We planned on going to Bob Marley - tribute to freedom at Citywalk on our July trip - they use zomato for booking and last week I checked, just out of curiosity, but couldn't do anything - checked yesterday and reservations can be made up until June 2nd now ( they only make them month in advance ) but last week couldn't make any

Fair point, I guess not, but the letter to employees that was leaked made it seem credible. So I guess it’s more fair to say all but official.

Well they can't. It's impossible.

So either people have to be satisfied with whatever Disney implements as precautions and go on their trips, or if they aren't satisfied they will have to stay home until they feel comfortable being in large public spaces.
And same, if people find precautions too restrictive, they will avoid going until precautions ease in time.

And the people that work there that have no choice in the matter? What is your advice to them? I’m not sure when wdw should open. But I know it’s not yet.

All I saw was some tweets. I just checked their team member website and saw nothing. If true, I find it odd they haven't said anything about a re-opening next Monday.

Wow, well, I think that pretty much takes care of the arguments made by some that why would Disney not reopen in June if they are taking reservations and offering free dining to canceled guests, starting June 1st. Which is what many of us have been saying . For the closures Disney was taking reservations until the official announcement was done. CMs were not told to stop taking reservations in advance. Disney always does the announcement first and then they inform the CMs,

If you want to watch in the video, the portion about WDW and Universal goes from about minute 31 to about minute 34ish.

And if you would have told me a year ago that I would be watching a video from an *Orange County Task Force meeting*, I would have been like, "no way." And yet, here we are.

That is true. I've seen a lot in this thread about "well you can't do X because it won't catch Y and Z". Bottom line is nothing that is done is going to be 100% (even the tests are not 100%). However just because a procedure only helps 20% of the time doesnt make it not worth doing. That is why there is no one thing that even grocery stores are doing. You layer on multiple procedures that each help a little bit and hope that all combined together you can catch most things and help prevent or at least slow the spread from people who are infected. It's the combinatin of efforts and not just one thing.

My state has opened up restaurants and I have been to one (a brewery near me) but I am keeping a close watch on how the restauranrt has things laid out and how the staff is handing things on cleaning etc. Those restaurants that seem to be doing the right thing by my estimation I'll go to. Those that don't seem to be doing a good job I won't. For me right now with resturants (and I'm not even thinking about theme parks or theaters yet) it is going to vary from place to place based on what procedures they are implementing. The brewery i mentioned had removed a lot of tables. Booths were every other one. Everybody in masks. Gloves used and changed out frequently. In fact when the bartender was serving the beer they wiped down the glass after poouring the beer. I felt they were taking adaquite protections.

Disney will have to put enough measure in place to make people feel like they are doing what they reasonable can. Nothing is going go be 100% and it is just not something that can be expected from anyplace. However just like with anything else they still need to make sure they have reasonable procedures in place to make people comfortable they are doing all they reasonably can.

Exactly. One modification/safety measure by itself will not be sufficient, but when you do multiple modifications/safety measures, then they are much more effective to slow the spread.

That is what I think. FL is just starting reopenng today. They are going to watch and see what happens when this first wave of businesses reopen before making a decision on when they will open. At least that is what I'd do. If restarants opening with social distancing in place still causes a spike in cases then a place with WDW would likely want to take a step back. If all the new measures being put in place let restaurans reopen and cases are flat or decling then they can announce a date and get ready. But he numbers the next 2 weeks are going to be critical IMO to what happens with WDW and really all theme parks

Right. The moderator specifically asked one of the physicians about how FL is doing compared to the neighbors (TN and GA) that just opened. They are monitoring the effects of reopening.
