Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

Wow. I definitely won't go to Disney if I can't have wine with dinner. That's an essential part of vacation.
And they may as well not open World Showcase as long as that's in place.

A dry Disney vacation? A dry any vacation? Not for me.

I don't think a lot of people realize that tidbit of info.....like that should be first and foremost on the list of modified experiences!!!

I think they already waive park parking fees for resort guests— that’s what we usually do because nothing ruins a vacation faster than Disney busses. I’d be amazed if they didn’t waive them for resort guests regardless of what they do with transportation.

I said at the resorts. Overnight fees.

I wouldn’t necessarily assume that a ban on bars opening would equate to a ban on selling alcohol at restaurants. At least up here in Indiana, there is a distinction between the two.

EVERYONE keeping a reservation for June, July and even maybe into August SHOULD expect lower offerings, we have gone round and round with what Disney might look like, it will probably be some sort of version of what's been already discussed (ad naseum) so NO ONE that has decided to keep their reservations should expect Disney as usual.

I was just surprised as I never heard what you posted (or even saw discussed in this thread ad nauseam) - that a ban of consumption of alcohol in restaurants and bars was in place.
That was totally new to me and I think it would be a game changer to some who have trips planned in the near future if that's still the rule.

I didn't mean to imply that people shouldn't lower their expectations...

I agree. I don’t know what liquor laws are in FL, but serving alcohol in restaurants does not make it a bar. I would bet the details will change once the new orders are announced. That said, byob- at least at your resort.

Just to add the executive order is set to expire May 9th unless it's extended, but he has said that bars will be one of the last things to reopen

Interesting as here they have like increased the access to alcohol as restaurants can provide alcohol to go now ... Definitely different feeling driving him with some margaritas in my cup holders

Wonder if they could still do that - like just "to go" containers

I for one would be up for the experience! I wouldn't mind a Haunted Mansion Hallway that didn't look and feel like a cattle chute.

Ours did too, but only by the bottle- no open container. We can also order it to be delivered from liquor and grocery stores. I got a nice order today! You’d have to live in Oklahoma to know how big this is!

OK, down here in Broward County (Ft. Lauderdale area) you can totally get drinks with your take-out. They relaxed the rules for that.

I expect that if you're eating out at a Disney restaurant (once that's allowed), you can still get drinks with dinner. If you're already taking up a table for dinner, then alcohol should be a part of that and there's no real reason why you shouldn't be able to.

I understand the "ZOMG Bars!" idea for, y'know, bars, but restaurants that serve alcohol are different than "bars".

It's not like "Spring BREAK!!!" Elbo Room sort of stuff.

The Florida order just bans people buying open beers and liquor by the drink curbside. Otherwise, you would have ad hoc open-air bars opening up everywhere. I believe you can currently order alcohol with takeout as long as they are in sealed containers Once they ok restaurants to serve inside they can serve alcohol like before according to their license. Bars are defined as making most of their money from the sale of alcohol instead of food. As they said , they will open last due to occupancy.
