Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

I am on the phone with DVC member services right now. I wanted to modify my trip. The CM said that the parks are scheduled to open June 15. They may not open then, but they will not open before June 15. Magic Kingdom area is the ONLY area that will be open. Magic KIngdom will be the only park open. This will be Phase one. They will open other parks as they see how Phase one goes.

There will be NO FAST PASSES, NO CHARACTER MEETINGS AND VERY LIMITED RESTAURANTS. There will be a "digital registry" for rides. Again, MK is the only park opening JUne 15 until later phases.

He (the CM) also said that EPCOT will be the LAST park to open. I am on hold right now getting my OTU points refunded.

I have never had a CM (during this closure) be so candid and forthright with information.

I’m am beyond amazed that a CM would reveal such detail as well. Wrong or right, unless they‘ve been authorized to give out that info, they shouldn’t. I appreciate you sharing what you were told, but I’ll believe it when I see it from an official source.

Still could be a game of telephone with CMs. Making up or not phone CMs are not usually the first to get information. I would take everything with a grain of salt until its direct from Disney.

:confused3 Seems legit to me. Only time will tell I guess.

Although they are representatives of the company .... (but yes of course I know they are often wrong or mis informed).
Anyway, I suppose if this is true then people might start weighing whether a modified experience would be worth reduced crowds .... I know I will be.

If true, I'm not surprised about MK being the first park they test the waters with, so to speak. It's also interesting that while you mention MK is scheduled to open in some form June 15th, you also state it could change to later, but that it definitely won't be sooner.

I state that because that is what he said. I just talked to him again because he came back on the line saying my OTU points have been refunded to my card. This time, I "may have had" my skype on to remember verbatim what he said. AND HE REITERATED THAT he does not suggest a reservation before June 15. MK will be the ONLY PARK OPEN. and MK resorts would be the only resorts open. I mean you can call and see if someone will give you more information. I am just trying to help not hinder. Geez, why would i make any of this up???? I had a great vacation planned at Copper Creek that I won't be able to take this summer. BTW, he did say that he expected to have relatively normal opening by August.

With that latest info, wouldn't that throw out the idea that the park would be open only to Florida residents only at first? Since it says MK resorts would be open?

Or was that idea thrown out long ago and I missed it..

There are many things I could adjust to. Face masks, crowd limits, changes to boarding rides- I could adapt. Not having all parks outside of Epcot open would be a no go for us.I’m not going to question their decisions, they know better than be the best way to go, but they have to be decisions I can live with for the money I’m spending.

I never said you were making it up. I appreciate the info.

I think most are questioning whether the CM had authority and would even know for sure. They're not question you.

I do wonder what he meant by "relatively normal opening by August"? All four parks and resorts open? Most of the restrictions lifted? I suppose this is currently one plan, and Disney has many backup plans just in case things don't pan out.
