Rules - Shower before going into pool!!

I have never been one to read the member info in that thick packet you get.....get more than enought info here - but I never knew it was a rule to shower before jumping into the pool on a hot day. We get back from the parks...slather on suntan lotion, run over and the kids hop in before we even find a chair. Now we shower in the villa each day but please donot take away my blue DVC membership card.....we do not shower before entering the pool!!!!! Do you - am I safe? Can I keep my membership or you guys think I should be banished? We do shower before going back to the villa to get sand off if kids played in the play area...to think - I was more concerned about keeping inside villas clean vs. the outdoor pool. Wished I knew hoe to do a poll. Well - am I a black sheep of the DVC family?

That's a rule at most commercial pools. not just Disney.

Like I said in a earlier post, not really certain I'm worried as much about you hitting the shower as much as you hitting the potty. LOL

Well, if it's any consolation to you, I didn't realize there was a shower before going into the pool rule either!!!!!!

The only "pseudo-rule" that matters (i.e. will result in the downfall of the DVC empire) is the one concerning families of 5 in a 1-BR. So feel free to not shower, smear suntan lotion on the chairs, run, throw beach balls and float on your inflatable raft. Afterall, 99.99% of all DVCers break a rule at some point and time while staying at a DVC resort.

Hmmmm well...if you read the paper in the summer you can occasionally see the result of people not showering before they enter the pool. It's the equivalent of washing your hands before you leave the restroom. Would you want to take a glass of water from a waiter or waitress who skipped this step? At the same time its a question of parts per million...not showering is more of a problem when there are a lot of people in the pool versus just a few.

unless you are talking about 12 people in a 104 degree hottub who haven't showered prior. Now you went to 500-1000 gallons vs. 30, 40, 50 or more thousand gallons. Big difference.
