Just talked to DW -- she told me what's apparently DS' new word of the day...

f**k :o  :o

We're trying to figure out who he heard it from  , since we're both pretty good about watching ourselves around him (or at least we thought).

...hoping this is a one day thing... :)

Maybe you can go to the thread about swearing and have your child raised by a non-swearing Diser ;)

Too funny!

Actually my nephew used to pronounce truck that way for a long time...

And we had a Star Wars video game and one of the villians was Thok.. DD kept on mispronouncing it, so we renamed the villian Tock, (Like in a clock)

You know you wonder why children say some of the things they do. Maybe he won't say it out anywhere. I bet he is trying to say truck too!

Ooh Boy and I was worried about my son walking around saying "Put". "Becca kicked me in my Put!"

I thought about "truck" too...we thought DS had a potty mouth for a while when he was 2 or 3 because of the way he pronounced it. :)

I once cared for a little girl who overheard her teenage babysitter using that word on the phone. The little girl would say it three times in a row, and out of anger no less. It's amazing what they pick up.

:p I had a cousin who pronouced truck that same way! Maybe that is what Cam is trying to do Steve.;) Good luck!

I swear it wasn't me, Steve! I F***ing promise!

I seem to remember hearing a fruck or two along the way when my boys were younger. :)

Oh, I was thinking about this very thing on the cussing thread, and people who said they never cuss around their kids. We don't either, NOW, that is. :teeth: DH had a bad habit of saying this VERY vulgar word, think of something 10 times more vulgar than the one your son said, Steve, and you can get an idea of what his favorite word was, particularly when driving. Anyway, DS was about 2 or 3 when he went to DAYCARE saying this word! The daycare lady was so mortified she called me and had me PAGED at work, she actually couldn't SAY the word but told me it started with a c and ended with an r. It took me a minute to figure it out, but after that, it ceased to be DH's favorite word. :teeth:

Hope you can break the little guy of his sailor mouth, Steve. :p

I'll have to ask if he was playing with a truck -- that, or maybe because it was lunchtime, he was asking for a fork? Either way, as someone said, hopefully this will pass.

Oh, and :p:p Jenz!!

LOL!! Mental picture of your DS saying this in daycare!! :teeth: Ummm, yeah, I think I'd be in a little trouble if Cam picked up something like that from me and took it to school with him! :teeth:

I figured DW was just on some conference calls at home today! ;)

LOL! That brings back memories to when J.C. first said it.....he just non-challantly one day says "Mama, what does **** mean?" I said "Excuse me????" He repeats it, "What does **** mean?" I said "WHAT!!!!" So then he feels the need to sound it out because I'm obviously stupid and not understanding him....."What does FFFF******&&&&&&&&KKKKK mean?" Still being the unbelieving mother still thinking okay maybe hes saying Funk asked him to write it down and sure enough F-*-*-K. So then we went into how that was a very very bad word and that he was never ever to say it again.....he had heard it from someone at daycare by the way.

You just never know where they'll pick something up. This brought back the memory of the time my then 5 y/o dd turned to her 8 y/o brother and said..' Want me to s**k your d**k?' My then SO and I were putting together a bike for my ds at the time. The wrench almost went thru a window!!!!! Still don't know where it came from. Poor ds was sitting there, really confused at the commotion. Evidently he had no idea what she was asking!!! He always has been a little naive.

At another job in New York City, one of the lawyer's toddler was visiting. He heard a siren outside and shouted a very bad word. When a co-worker told dad about his son's vocabulary, he blushed and said "That's the word daddy said when a police car pulled him over on Saturday!" :D

DS was about 3 when he said it. I flipped out. I don't say it so I knew he got it from day care.

was mommy a bad girl or was daddy a bad boy, where did he hear that word? it will pass, just try no to make a big deal out of it. :D

Oh boy!!! I remember the first time dd said THAT one!!! I said to her...what did you say???? And she sulkingly said sorry and never said it again!!! I on the other hand freaked!!!!!
