Rude Post Office Employee

Stop being a helicopter mom. You were just as rude to her as she was to you. She doesn’t care if you are union. And what’s done is done. Move On

UPDATE: The local postmaster called me last night and told me that she didn't even have to figure out who this employee was because she immediately knew by reading the station by what I wrote. The postmaster lady said she gets 10 complaints a month about her and there is nothing she can do expect to apologize to me on her behalf.

EDIT: The postmaster lady told me that she got a complaint from someone on same day as mine and approx same appt time as mine. I asked her if it was the lady with the morning appt with the 3 kids who the employees made stand at the wall for three hours because the employee wasn't satisfied on how the docs were presented to her and said "go to the wall and I'll get to you when I get to you" Postmaster said "yep"

Well at least you got a response back :)

There must be something going on in the background for why the employee has so many complaints but is still employed like maybe a union agreement that limits the reasons for action that can be taken but I would avoid that post office in the future that's for sure!

What a ridiculous situation.

Years ago we had a not very pleasant experience trying to take care of passports for our whole family. At our local post office you have to call to make an appointment, but for weeks we could never get anyone to answer the phone. When I stopped in to attempt to make an appointment in person I was told I could not, the appointments must be made by phone. They wouldn't discuss the fact the phone was never answered and had no voice mail feature. We set up appointments at another post office in a nearby city. When we showed up there with everything in order per the instructions on the website we had to wait, with our two small children, for 45 minutes after our appointment. I don't remember anymore what the issue was, but we ended up having to come back the following week -- which we were made to feel very lucky they would even allow, because of something to do with the method of payment which was different than the website information. Later found out that was one of their normal games that had been going on for quite some time.

Our City Clerk's office is MUCH easier to deal with and where we have gone since. Unfortunately they're not processing passports due to the pandemic, so I really feel for people who have to contend with the nonsense that is the post office.

I just assume post office employees are going to be rude, especially the passport workers (and they don’t answer the phones, haven’t in years). Thank goodness my youngest 2 turned 18 in January, I got them an appointment, filled out the applications, gather documents, wrote checks... Fortunately I happened to check my email that morning because apparently their camera and photocopier weren’t working, I sent my kids to cvs and staples. They didn’t know to copy the backs of their licenses so got yelled at, plus were told they needed original birth certificates (which they had along with the copies). They were allowed to leave and go copy the backs of their licenses. On the website it states appointments will not be taken, but in fact they are mandatory (figured that out beforehand).
Sometimes the same at international borders, just like post office workers sometimes, they are dealing I suppose with such huge numbers of ppl that they can get impatient and perfunctory...
