I am sorry if this story seems silly to some, but I have to let it out because it really bothered me. DH and I were at Animal Kingdom on May 11th. It was a lovely day and the park was not too crowded for a Saturday. One of our best friends was with us and was visiting for the first time. He was already astounded by Disney's excellent customer service which I am always raving about. We were waiting for the parade to start and chose a spot near a shop and the cart where they serve Haggan Dazs ice cream (dont remember the name of the shop). The day had been nice and sunny right until 3pm. In minutes the skies turned gray and it started pouring so we went in the shop to wait for the rain to stop. We went to the far back where their was enough space to put my wheel chair and a spot where our friend and Dh could sit. We noticed two guests sitting on the floor in a small corridor that leads the cast member doors and found it odd that they were sitting there because it is obvious that no one, especially guests obstruct the area because cast members come in and out, its a safety issue. We then noticed that one of them is charging a cell phone in the outlet of the corridor. A CM notices them and kindly tells them they need to move for their own safety so that they do no get hit by the doors. They move, but are angry to do so and the male sticks the finger out to the CM as soon as the CM gave his back. I was annoyed by this because the the CM did nothing wrong and was only doing his job for their own safety. The CM had asked if the charger was theirs and told them that is was ok for them to leave it charging. After a couple of minutes the CM comes back and tries to make conversation with the couple by asking if they knew what color the charger would turn once the phone was charged to which the guest with attitude repeatedly says he did not know. When the CM gives his back again, the male guest again sticks the finger out behind the CM back while making fun of him. He was just horrible and with an awful attitude and honestly had no reason to be acting like this especially when the CM was being courteous to them. While this entire thing got me angry because I just could not believe that a person would behave in this manner when the CM was doing nothing wrong, but what got me really angry was that we over heard the man say that he was going to report the CM for being rude and disrespectful. This really angered DH and I because the CM was being a sweetheart and has no reason to get reprimanded on behalf of the ignorance of a guest. I think DH remembers the CM name and we were wanting to write a letter explaining how wonderful the CM behaved and treated the guests. Our fear is that he will get in trouble just because someone complained about him when he did absolutely nothing wrong.

Sorry for my rant....but we feel the magic is preserved when people do not take advantage of others or abuse the system. I just wanted the world to know that the CM did an excellent job and did not deserve to be treated the way he was. :flower3:

I would send your note if you want - explaining the CM's courtesy you observed (even if he didn't see HOW rude they were being behind his back). If nothing else, it will offset the complaint the other guest threatened to make.

Yes, some people are selfish and have no class.

You know, I can't even imagine the absolute crap that CM's have to put up with in a day, all while smiling and wishing everyone a Magical Disney Day. They're awesome people to be able to do that. :thumbsup2

I guess the only saving grace is that the average person isn't a jerk and they really do enjoy and appreciate the nice people they come across. But you always get those people who feel their family is entitled to do anything they want because they paid a bazillion dollars for their vacation. :sad2: UGH.

Karma usually takes care of people like that. Plus the fact that they usually live pretty miserable lives because of their attitude causes me to not take them too seriously.

I'd just write the note and be happy in the fact that someday at the end of their days they'll be miserable and alone. ;)

At that point, I would have gone up to the rude person and said something along the lines of "if you report that Cast Member, I will counteract your report with how rude you were to the Cast Member."

In situations like that, I can't keep my mouth shut. Because the rude person thinks they are going to get away with being rude and no one will say anything.

I'm at the point in my life (early 50s) where I'm sick and tired of rudeness and I simply won't tolerate it anymore. Why let the idiots rule the world?

I would say something with as many details as possible just in the off chance the morons do complain.

I have actually done that before, when I saw someone being rude to a waiter. I said something to the manager just in case the jerks complained , to let them know the waiter was nothing but kind and professional.

What we are wondering is where should we send the letter to? Should we send it to the general WDW mailing address or directly to Animal Kingdom? :confused3

Here you go.:)

I would send an email to the address at the bottom of the card and be as specific as possible(location, time of day, description of the CM,etc.).:)

The email will be much faster than a letter.:)

Please describe how WONDERFUL the CM was in dealing with a difficult situation and what a GREAT CM they are and the CM will probably receive a WELL-DESERVED Applause-o-Gram.:)

I'm sure the CM will greatly appreciate you taking the time to do this!:)

We've all got to take up a collection and get WEDWDW a new camera.

;)

Thank you so much for posting the photo with the address! I appreciate the feedback and responses from everyone! I hope we can make a difference in the event the guests did write a complaint.
