How do you guys handle it when someone in rude or inconsiderate on a bus? Just the other day I was riding a Disney bus and this guy literally took up 4 seats with a stroller (instead of putting it in front of him), and made people stand. The people standing right in front of him were an elderly couple and a woman with a small child. I wanted to say something soooooooo bad! Does this make anyone else furious? What do you say to get people to think about someone other than themselves?

We didn't ride any buses last trip as we drive down from North Florida. I'm tinkering w/ the idea of us trying the buses once or twice this stay at CBR just to see what it's like. But experiences like this make me think maybe we should just stay in our Corolla & let the folks that need the on site transportation use it, as we get free parking anyway. I wouldn't want our family to take up seats that may be in short supply. And I dunno that my snarkyness would stay unspoken after a long park day. I would hope that certain someone was probably just oblivious and tired. But I don't always think that way. :rolleyes1

I just say something.

'Would you mind moving your stroller so we could put some bodies in those seats?' I doubt most people would argue. They know they're being rude and they're usually embarrassed enough when they're called on it to stop.

I am assuming the stroller was not actually placed on the seats

So it seems like the people standing there were *choosing* to stand.

They could have just as easily said *excuse me etc and sit down on the seats.

I get that it looks like he was claiming the territory all to himself ... but that may also be

perceived as *I am here and certainly anyone is within their rights to seat in the empty seat

next to me ... but I am fine if they do not.

Public or Shared Transportation ... is *best* to be used with a certain amount of assertiveness.

Myself ... I was taught to offer a seat to seniors etc.

The crazy part is, the stroller actually WAS placed on the seats! It was a two-seater which is why when placed there, it took up so much room.

I would have just asked him to move the stroller. It's simple. I'm also one to give up my seat to elderly people and expectant mothers. So, I expect kindness from others, if I don't get it, I make a point to say something.

In this case, I would have done nothing. If the people standing wanted a seat, they could have asked this guy to move the stroller.

If I wanted to sit, I'd ask. I wouldn't speak for others, maybe they wanted to stand?!?

Sometimes I do feel bad for those dads on double stroller patrol on the bus...LOL. That was my husband a year or two ago. The lock didn't work, so it would slide open on the bus. He'd be trying to hold it shut, and not fall, and not run over toes, and not be awkward... But I digress! Some people just have no idea. Or they just don't care.
