Rude Behavior At Disney

My husband was on Main Street in his boxers and his birkenstocks!

We were sitting waiting for the parade and a family of kids was next to us. One of this kids got a very stinky diaper and wanted to be changed, but the mom said to wait for after the parade.

Little girl did not like her moms answer and stuck her hands in her diaper and pulled out a handful of poo. Which the devil child then proceeded to WIPE on my husbands shorts.

The smell was horrid. Husband starts gagging and drops his shorts right then and there. Luckily he had on cute plaid boxers so you couldn't tell he was not wearing pants.

The mom never apologized - just shrugged her shoulders.

C'mom that is so rude!

I have been just lurking, reading through this thread until now, but when I saw this.....okay SERIOUSLY?? This kid wiped POOP on your husband? :crazy2: This is the most disgusting thing I have ever read on here! And the mother that was too lazy to take her child and change her before the parade just sat there and said nothing? No apology??

I would have been livid! I am mad on your behalf just thinking about it!

As someone else with a "hidden disability" I also understand your husband's issues.

Can you share with us more details of what made the CMs rude at Tusker House? We actually had a very good experience there. (I guess it depends on the day . . . . )

At Crystal Palace they asked everyone to check in even if your breakfast was later, so at 8:00am we checked in and were seated by 8:10am even though we had an 8:25am reservation. At Tusker House we were early again so DH checked us in, but the CM told him quite abruptly and sarcastically that our reservation wasn't until 8:30am and he didn't need us checking in until 8:15am (5 minutes later). Then as we took the photo while you wait, we were interrupted by the same CM 3 times while trying to get a photo with 2 toddlers. He kept calling our name, even though DH told him we were taking the photo after the first call, and he looked at and heard DH with the first call. Our table did not have high chairs as requested, and the seating CM left it for the waitress CM to get them--she arrived 10 minutes later and our toddlers were already getting worked up by this time--and we waited another 10 minutes for the chairs. We brought table pads for the children to eat off of and got 3 salad size plates for 2 adults and 2 children to eat, that were not overloaded at all. The CM tried to charge us for 4 meals, even though 2-year-olds that eat off a parent's plate are free. We had to wait more than 25 minutes for the bill to be corrected and returned. The waitress was horribly slow at refilling drinks, and I had to leave early with our toddlers to get more milk at a refreshment stand because she was taking so long to bring a refill for them. So, not the best experience.

I think kids are automatically drawn to these things. My boys do this and I am usually the worst mom in the world for making them cut it out ;) It annoys me to no end when they start messing with these things. Maybe they can put some kind of electric shock in them...THAT will make them stop playing with it :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

I'm so mean :goodvibes

*Note* I'm only joking about the electric shock thing...maybe :rolleyes1

My kid is attracted to these things too. No matter how many times I tell him to cut it out, it's like he has Dory's memory, "I yeah, I'm not supposed to touch that, only seconds after I've already told him". I'm all for the shocks, just a little one.

Not to say that your service didn't suck. BUT as I have been saying (and no one here beleives) I was told by a CM if you get the kid a Plate of their own ~ at a buffet ~ you pay for the child ~ no matter the age. Doesn't sound like they should have charged you for four though only three.

There is nothing I have more than sucky service.

If you dine on the DDP children two and under are Free. Not sure how it works other wise.

People who cruise a lot.
I beg to differ! Just got back from Disney cruise #66 last week, and I can tell you categorically that I DO NOT save pool chairs and DO NOT approve of saving pool chairs. If I were looking for a chair and saw one held with a pair of shoes or a towel or whatever, and no one came back to it in a reasonable length of time (like maybe half an hour), that stuff is getting moved and my butt is plunking down in that chair.

I'm not a pool chair person tho' (usually in the hot tub), so I've never actually done that. But I wouldn't hesitate to, just as I didn't hesitate to plop down one day at the cruise ship theater when some jamoke tried to tell me "I'm saving the whole front row" (the complete row was empty). I sat down and told him to go complain to a crew member if he didn't like it and ask about the seat saving policy (NO SAVING is clearly stated in the daily schedules). He just slunk away back into his greed-hole.

For some reason I have the song "The wheels on the bus go round and round" stuck in my head.:headache:

Here is something rude I haven't seen posted yet: How about when you go down to the pool early in the morning, only to find all of the chairs coverd with towels? That happened during our stay at the Beach Club. We went to spend a morning by the pool, and all of the lounge chairs had towels and other assorted stuff thrown on them. Who thinks it is ok to put an all day hold on a pool chair?

For that situation I have my own special solution.

It has something do with a tree :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I just wanted everyone to be aware that the ECV's don't stop on a dime, so you also need to be aware of what's around & not always blame them for a collision. I know that there are rude people, but not all. My dad used one & when we were exiting MK. I was walking directly behind him, so I had his point of view. From the right came a woman who was walking on an angle from the direction we were, as I said we were leaving, so we were walking straight for the underpass. So from my dad's point of view, the woman walked directly in front of him. Unfortunately, he bumped into her & hurt her leg. I felt bad, but all they did was yell that my dad needs to watch where he's going. Well he was watching where he was going, she came from the right & walked directly in front of him. He tried to stop, but she was already too close. So please try to be more aware of the ECV's when walking, as not everyone is trying to bump into people.

I was in the pool at fort wilderness with a pal and since the pool was empty we were playing with a sponge football. Theres one lady sunbathing quite close to the pool and I threw the ball into the water and I accidently splashed this woman. Horrified I got out of the pool and said " I'm very sorry I really didn't mean to " to which she spring the `F` word out and told me to " F off Brit " I really couldn't believe she'd say something like that to a couple of 13 year olds :confused3 We just let it go as I hate starting trouble at WDW

After you apologized and meant no harm and she cursed at you did you remind her she was AT A POOL with water that splashes????

Excuse me--sitting close to a pool at WDW means possibility of getting splashed. Enter at your own risk. Hackett--you are a credit to 13-year olds!

Not to argue, but your experience sounds to me more like a staff that didn't know what they were doing or were overloaded rather than rude. But I don't blame you for not wanting to go back after that. It did take a while for us to get our check (two adults at the breakfast) but our server was very attentive about refilling glasses and taking away dirty plates.

For that situation I have my own special solution.

Ok--I'm dense--I don't get it.

but the chairs were saved by people on the cruise. They get up at ungodly hours in the mornings to suntan their books, sandals, towels, etc. To try and return from a late breakfast and have a prime chair by the pool. That's why I said people who cruise (was supposed to be funny to people who cruise because they understand - maybe I shouldn't have said a lot, but it is very rare to have been on as many as you have), because regardless of the line you will always see chairs saved by the pool in the morning. Then that brings us to the whole "what do you do about it and appropriate time to wait conversation" which can be found down the list a bit in the cruise forum. We never got chairs near the pool, but it was no big deal to us.

(and ps - i've seen parents pushing strollers more recklessly than most of the ecv drivers i've seen in the parks.)

This is so true! When we were there two weeks ago, we were in Tomorrowland between Space Mountain and the Grand Prix Raceway heading towards Fantasyland. DH was walking in a rather narrow stretch between one of the concrete benches and (I think) a concession stand, when an out-of-control Grannie pushing a stroller literally smacked right into him, running over his foot. Now, she could obviously see that the space was tight, and he "had the right-of-way" as he was already in the middle section of the bench, but that didn't stop her. We were so taken aback by her rudeness and she never even acknowledged that she ran over his foot, never said "I'm sorry", or "excuse me" - nothing. He was pretty upset, as he is diabetic and has to really take care of his feet. She just kept going and going and going................... Oh well, you just have to roll with the punches sometimes!

People who put laundry in the washers/dryers at the resorts, then disappear forever while I'm waiting for a machine. I have been known to take things out of a washing machine in order to use it -- but only after I waited over two hours for the person to return (and I put it in a dryer for them).

And people who complain about anything/everything to Disney hoping to get something free in return. Even if I have a valid complaint, I don't want money back or free passes or whatever -- I think it kind of diminishes my complaint. Usually, my goal is to tell whoever is in charge about a problem, maybe vent a little, and make sure it doesn't happen to anyone else.

For some reason I have the song "The wheels on the bus go round and round" stuck in my head.:headache:

Thank you very much...........:crazy2: And because you started it, don't think of the song "American Pie".

Going to WDW as a family of adults (I'm 28, mama is 48, and auntie is 58) we have experienced our share of rudeness - several times at character meals we've recieved the snide comment "huh, I thought Disney World is for kids." We just brush it off, no use getting into it with idiots.

The rudest was at the Little Mermaid show, oh gosh I think it was in 2006? Anyhow, that year I was pushing auntie in a wheelchair, her knees are too bad for all the walking, and after a difficult (medically speaking) spring, she was not up to using a ECV, so I had been pushing. So, at the Little Mermaid we get seated in the last row for wheelchairs and take our seats and so does the rest of the audience. After the lights go down and the Mermaid takes the stage, this 13-year-old boy in front of us decides to sit on the back of his seat - keep in mind this kid is already taller than I am - and is now blocking my entire view. I lean up and ask very nicely to please sit down I can't see. He ignores me, so I ask again a little louder. With that his mother turns around and yells "SO? He likes the Mermaid! If you want to see, you can just stand up!!" I yell back at her "I've been pushing a wheelchair in 90 degrees heat outside, I need to sit and so does your son!" She then says "Its not my problem your family is too fat to walk around the park, stand up or shut up!" I was in tears at this point, and my mama wanted to get a CM, and I told her not to, but in hindsight I should have let her. But near the finale, I did give the chair a good swift kick and the kid finally sat down. As they were exiting the kid says "Your really mean you know?" and I said "Yeah, and you're really rude!!!" Needless to say that was our last time in the MGM park, we had more rude encounters there than at any other Disney park, and that one took the cake for sure.

What is a 13 year old boy doing watchin Little Mermaid anyway?

OH, that reminds me of an incident that occurred at the hot tub on a recent trip. There were several people in the tub, all relaxing and socializing. This woman arrives with her young child, and they start tossing this little hard plastic frisbee back and forth. She tosses the frisbee and it goes way over the kids head and hits one of the guys at the other end of the hot tub in the head. She apologizes, then goes back to playing frisbee- now her daughter and her are about 4 feet away from each other, but again this woman tosses the frisbee and it again hits the same guy in the face. So she apologizes again. Well, this goes on until the guy and his friend have been hit in the head/face a total of **5** times with this hard plastic frisbee. OUCH!!! I mean, c'mon, how many times do you have to hit someone in the head with a hard plastic object before you figure out that a crowded hot tub at midnight is not the time or place to be playing frisbee???

By the definition of the people who put the stuff there and headed off for parts unknown, they are "saved." By my definition, they are "cluttered." You don't have to go along with their definition. If you ever cruise again, use mine. Remove the clutter and park your butt. If they return and hour later and start yelling, let 'em yell. It's not like they can do much more than that...if they put your hands on you, that's when security hauls 'em off to the brig.

You have to make a choice. Either you get to sit and relax on the bench, OR you get at the front of the line. You can't have your cake and eat it, too.:cake:

Very true! I would LOVE to sit on the bench and wait for the bus. But I know that, if I want to make sure we get seats for the four of us, we'll have to wait it out with the rest of the crowd. Because there is no way I'm going to try and push my way up to the front of the line when the bus arrives ... we'd be perceived as "line cutters." There was only one resort that we were fine waiting on the bench til the bus got there, and that was at CSR; because there were never more than around a dozen at a time waiting. The rest of the resorts we stayed at ... it was either stand and wait or take a chance on missing out. (Ooops, sorry ... hadn't gotten to the 'bus wars' post yet! my bad)
