Rude Behavior At Disney

My husband was on Main Street in his boxers and his birkenstocks!

We were sitting waiting for the parade and a family of kids was next to us. One of this kids got a very stinky diaper and wanted to be changed, but the mom said to wait for after the parade.

Little girl did not like her moms answer and stuck her hands in her diaper and pulled out a handful of poo. Which the devil child then proceeded to WIPE on my husbands shorts.

The smell was horrid. Husband starts gagging and drops his shorts right then and there. Luckily he had on cute plaid boxers so you couldn't tell he was not wearing pants.

The mom never apologized - just shrugged her shoulders.

C'mom that is so rude!

That is not rude, that's disgusting! I bet that mom was just so horribly mortified that her child is so out of control and that she's to blame as a parent. I can't believe she didn't even say ANYTHING!

I have to say I think this story takes the cake! Thank God her husband had on boxers and not briefs :rotfl2:

I think kids are automatically drawn to these things. My boys do this and I am usually the worst mom in the world for making them cut it out ;) It annoys me to no end when they start messing with these things. Maybe they can put some kind of electric shock in them...THAT will make them stop playing with it :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:
There are some at Soarin' (I think near emergency exits) that are clasped together in the middle with a magnet. Every time I see some kid, teen, or even adult try to park their butt and fall with a big 'ol smack as the magnet gives, I hum to myself, "Schadenfruede...making the world a better place to be..."

You may be waiting on the bus, but if your on the bench, your not in line. Your on the bench. Do you get it, on the bench, not in line. One more time on the bench, not in line.:rotfl2:

How about STANDING in line waiting for the bus. Year after year, when we approach the line for the bus, we stand in line. If you are not in line, I will get in line before you and therefore will get on the bus before you. Period.

bwhahaha.... don't you just love that word????

ok--what does "Schadenfruede" mean?
I can't post a link here because the best explanation is not family-friendly (contains some naughty words), but go to YouTube and search the words Avenue Q and Schadenfreude and then listen to the song.

ok--what does "Schadenfruede" mean?

Basically - getting pleasure from watching the (trivial) misery of another person.

I've never heard it used when the other person's misery is actually real/severe, more in the manner it was used in that post.

For some reason I have the song "The wheels on the bus go round and round" stuck in my head.:headache:

Here is something rude I haven't seen posted yet: How about when you go down to the pool early in the morning, only to find all of the chairs coverd with towels? That happened during our stay at the Beach Club. We went to spend a morning by the pool, and all of the lounge chairs had towels and other assorted stuff thrown on them. Who thinks it is ok to put an all day hold on a pool chair?

People who cruise a lot.

I think that Disney encourages the use of ECVs by some of their policies. My husband is "invisibly disabled." He can walk a golf course (and does, every day the temp goes above 40 and the snow is gone) but he cannot stand for a long time (such as in the pre-show areas). I have contacted Disney several times and asked if accommodation can be made for him to have a place to sit down until it is time to move into the attraction area and the answer I get repeatedly is "If he has stamina issues, he needs to use an ECV; the distance around the park is much greater than our queues." (Let me insert here, "Duh! Really?) They are missing the point! Walking and distance are not his problem. Standing still (especially on a slanted floor) is his problem and a simple sitting area for people like him would be such a simple solution.

And, yeah, he has endured the rude comments from people on the bus who are standing. He looks healthy but they have no idea what is going on inside his head (literally). He's a real easy-going guy but one day he did comment to a companion of a complaining lady as we disembarked, "I know your friend would have liked my seat, but had I given it to her, I most likely would have needed medics to get me off the bus and take me to the ER."

I did see once in a dining review (I contacted the webmaster and it was removed) a comment by a lady that when she came out of a restaurant the people just wouldn't get out of her way so she began deliberately banging people in the legs with her child's stroller. Seriously, why would someone be proud of that kind of behavior? I just don't get it. I raised four kids, did plenty of zoos and parks, and never felt I had a right to hit people with my stroller.

I completely understand this. My DH has a very rare form of arthritis, and at 36, already has had 2 hip replacements. People do not see that he has any medical problems, but standing still for a long time can be very demanding on his back and legs. He can walk all day, but standing for 10 mins for sitting on the floor can be excruciating. He usually gives his seat up on buses for moms with young kids because we have 2 toddlers and know how it is, or for elderly people, but sometimes he needs the seat after a long day as well. I think people need to realize just because you can't see something physically wrong does not mean someone does not have medical needs. Keep this in mind before you judge other people for being rude.

We just returned from WDW yesterday and encountered quite a bit of rudeness, but if you focus on that it's hard to enjoy the real magic. People in general do not have manners anymore, so expecting better at WDW is setting yourself up for disappointment.

However, I would like to note the 2 worst examples of rudeness we encountered we at the Bakery on Main Street and the Tusker House Safari Breakfast. Both times it was the staff, not the patrons. We will never do Tusker House again because the staff was so rude from check-in to bill pay. We were so disappointed after the wonderful experience we had at Crystal Palace 2 days prior.

I'm sure this has been mentioned...

People who want to take a picture of their loved one from a distance of 20' or more away in order to get an object in the background(i.e. the castle) and then get upset when people walk between them and their subject. This is unbelievable especially when the person is attempting to do this at a crowded time across a pathway.

As someone else with a "hidden disability" I also understand your husband's issues.

Can you share with us more details of what made the CMs rude at Tusker House? We actually had a very good experience there. (I guess it depends on the day . . . . )

I was in the pool at fort wilderness with a pal and since the pool was empty we were playing with a sponge football. Theres one lady sunbathing quite close to the pool and I threw the ball into the water and I accidently splashed this woman. Horrified I got out of the pool and said " I'm very sorry I really didn't mean to " to which she spring the `F` word out and told me to " F off Brit " I really couldn't believe she'd say something like that to a couple of 13 year olds :confused3 We just let it go as I hate starting trouble at WDW

She should gone into a gift shop and bought him a pair of shorts. How disgusting:sad2:

After you apologized and meant no harm and she cursed at you did you remind her she was AT A POOL with water that splashes????

WELL SAID!!! My son also suffers from an anxiety/sensory disorder so I can TOTALLY understand. My son did very good at WDW I was so happy but we did have a few "melt downs" and I handled them best I could. I ignore other peoples stares etc b/c they have no clue what my life has been like and what WONDERFUL progrss he has made!

I am so sorry that happened.. I really wish people would remember not all disabilities are able to be easily spotted..so the next time you are in a crowd and you see a kid acting out just remember you have NO idea what that family is going through and it is NOT your place to judge OUR parenting skills!!!:)

My son and nieces DON'T suffer from anxiety or sensory disorders, but they totally have meltdowns. At home and at Disney. It happens to the best of us, all you can do is deal with it, move on and forget about those judging you around you. If a parent could truly control every emotion their kids had, there would be no tears in Disney, but that's not going to happen.

And I don't know how on earth Disney is no place for strollers. Could you imagine how many more meltdowns there would be if all these kids in strollers were wallking the whole time? Just the thought of it makes me want to cry.
