You see, I didn't think about something that would make you dizzy/off balance when standing but would be fine walking. I was trying to think of something that would make your legs/feet able to handle miles of walking but couldn't handle even minimal standing.
Inner ear issues make perfect sense.
Thanks for the education!![]()
You're welcome!

THere are some joint conditions that are also much more painful when standing in one place for a long time , while walking uses different muscles and joint movements and is less painful.
This is true too. When I stop walking my joint pain gets a lot worse.

I just remembered another one from our last trip. We went to Akershus for the princess dinner one night. Just after we sat down at the table another family gets seated at the table next to us. They had a little girl that was around 5 or so who starts up with one of those nasty, nasty, nasty, wet, hacking coughs. We grab our appetizers from the buffet line and sit down, she's still hacking away. We order our dinner, that comes, now she's hacking so hard, she starts to vomit. She's right in my line of sight, so now, I'm trying to eat while having to listen to this and trying to not look over there because honestly, that's the last thing I want to see while eating, so I'm twisting around in my chair. They're still not leaving. Finally the princesses come out and she's still there, hacking and vomiting away. I've never been so grossed out in my life at a meal. I almost couldn't finish my dinner because the family was so inconsiderate as to let their daughter keep hacking away. Luckily I never got sick from it. But EWWWWWWWWWWW! Even the family with kids next to us was totally grossed out. The mother and I exchanged those glances and shook our heads at each other.
