VERY Cool!

I am sure that we are going to see more and more of this. (YEH!!!)

Has everyone seen the commercial for KFC advertising that their Original Recipe Breast piece has only 8 (7?) carbs??? :teeth:

Did you see that they even have a low carb (I imagine sugar free) cheesecake for dessert? :Pinkbounc :hyper: :Pinkbounc

We were just at Fridays the other night and I had a really good Garlic Chicken and a serving of two different kinds of mixed vegetables. YUM! Anyway, I asked if they had a sugar free cheesecake, but they do not. But I will bet that most places will carry one before long.

It is getting easier and easier for the low carbers. :)

KFC = pathetic! If they want to have low carb items then offer things that are TRULY low carb. Chicken [which starts out as ZERO carb, by the way] injected with sugars and dregged in white flour is NOT what those on low carb choose to eat.

This is WONDERFUL news!!! I just hope the mashed cauliflower tastes better then when I tried it!!!

Me too! My DH loves Cauliflower, but we hated it when I tried to make the mashed ones! YUCK!

Wow what a scrummy looking menu!

I'm sure it will be years before we get a restaurant providing information like that.......we don't even get low carb products in our shops!

Awesome news!!! I will DEFINATELY check it out!!:cool1: Thank you Thank you Thank you!!

Mmmmmmm! Makes me wish I was a low-carber!!!! :D

I think this is a major step in the right direction!! I just hope more restaurants follow suit!! Now I just wish they would provide full nutritional info, so I could figure Weight Watcher points on that Chicken Quesadilla! That's one of my favorite things at Ruby's! :teeth:

Jody, you always have the most excellent information for us. Thanks. This is great to know.

I laughed when DH told me about this thread. We were in early Phase II when we drove to WDW in Aug. We stayed in Florence and Ruby Tuesday's was the restaurant next to our motel. I checked out their menu & decided that it wasn't too lo-carb friendly. So we got in the car & drove to a nearby Outback's, where we love the Salmon. As always, we were just a little ahead of the times.

I just got back from Ruby Tuesdays. I took my dad for some tests and a cat scan and they told him he had to eat right away to flush his system of the dye medium. So with Ruby Tuesday's right near the Dr we checked it out.
All I can say is YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!
I had the Church Street Chicken. It was a little dry, without the mushrooms and cheese it would have been terrible but that helped it out a little.
The Califlower was to die for. I could have eaten twice as much of that and skipped the big hunk of steamed brocolli. It was creamy and very smooth, and the flavor was yummy. I could just barely taste the califlower. I definately need to try and recreate it at home.
The brocolli was just that, steamed brocolli. Nothing on it at all. I asked for some butter and they did bring it because it was very bland without it. The bunch they brought was huge, I ate less than 1/2 of it.
The menu did look nice, but I still can't see some of the foods being considered "low carb". To me wasting 24 carbs on a fajita is too much, that is almost my entire daily carb allotment. I will stick to the 14 carb or below, but to have a big meal, that I don't have to cook, that is within the guidelines for low carb is FANTASTIC!!!!!
Now I have a place I can go to without watching everyone else eat good food while I chew on my dry chicken or beef.
Thanks for sharing this with us Jody. Peggie

Mickey527, thanks for the review!! Everything sounds so great!! I actually tried Ruby Tuesdays for the first time in Florida last year and I liked it! :)

We went on a date night last night and we went to Ruby Tuesday!!! The first thing I asked when we walked in the door was did they have the new low carb menu yet!!

We got both appetizers and shared them. Both were great!! For dinner I had the chopped steak with the broccoli and the mashed cauliflower. I asked for some melted butter with the broccoli. Dh got the fajitas. Both our dinners were wonderful. For dessert we shared a piece of cheesecake. It was good but Beachgirls recipe is better!!!

Over all everything was really good. I was very surprised that I liked the cauliflower. It still tasted like cauliflower but it was much better than the recipe I tried. The broccoli needed some salt and could have been steamed a bit more but then again I like mine very tender.

From a Ruby Tuesday's employee...the cheesecake IS sugar free AND it has ATKINS name on it!! I was THRILLED when I found this out. I tried a peice yesterday (saturday) and it was wonderful!

I am stoked about this new menu. I am so happy to see the place I work finally get the clue about healthy eating!

I was there for lunch today. I had the low carb catch and OMG that whipped cauliflower was wonderful! I had the salad bar with my meal PLUS a piece of the cheesecake. I NEVER get dessert when I eat out but I just couldn't pass it up. Everything was delish! I doubt if I'll each much of anything else all day!

WooHoo! Thanks for the info. Now all I have to do is find an excuse to go out & eat so I can try it! Shouldn't be too hard to do that! :jumping1:
