I'm not a big royal watcher but I will watch the wedding on Friday later in the day with my family.

I was thinking it would be fun to have some British inspired food for us. I spent a little bit of time looking online but thought I would check with the people that seem to have answers for everything...lol

I am not going to have a big dinner party or anything. Just wanted to fun it up a bit in the house. I'll have to get some English beer for my husband in order to make him suffer through this...LOL

Ideas??

I went to our local English Tea Room earlier this week & bought some scones, lemon curd, Devon cream, and English breakfast tea!

We will be having tea and scones here too :thumbsup2 We are so excited! My daughter and I have it all planned to use the good china and have a proper British tea. It should be good fun. We even have gloves and hats for the occasionprincess:

I just spoke to my husband and asked him to get some British beer on his way home. I told him to get it today as it will fly off the shelves. He LAUGHED at me.

I told my mother we need some british teeth.

I have not found a British Tea Shop here just yet.

So I will hit Wegman's and their fancy dessert section. I saw some fruit tarts that looked scrumptious. It won't be officially British--but it will be fancy. And it seemed tasty for breakfast.

Probably have some Earl Grey tea with it as I don't like the Breakfast tea.

I was also contemplating a mimosa for the toast. Girls are having the Sparkling peach/apple cider that they were supposed to have on Easter, but I never opened. That is if they get up when I ask them to do so per their request.

I have some tea that I bought at the British Epcot pavillion. Speaking of which I think we will call the phone booths on Friday...tee hee

Twinings?

Yes--I have that as it is available in most grocery stores, though my recent stash may be from EPCOT.

But I can't find any bangers or pork pies or the truly authentic British stuff. My old publix did put in a British section in their store. So I could make beans on toast if I was there. :)

Fruit cake. It is the traditional wedding cake in England (and Canada).

Dinner on Thursday will be fish and chips and breakfast on Friday is scones and tea

Just finished making my scones and will be making a biscuit cake later today. It needs to chill overnight. Also going to get out the china and sit back and enjoy.:bride: Denise
