Could someone please explain in detail the club level at the RP. We are going in Aug. (11-15) and if they offer to upgrade I'd like to know if it is worth it. I've heard the rooms are smaller???? Is that true?? There are 5 of us, so it might make a big difference. Any info would be great. Thanks.......

:p

I am not sure if the rooms are smaller .... that was the only time I have stayed onsite at Universal. We have 5 in our family & we fit fine. We ended up in a King Bed room...we had asked for the 2 queens. Me, my husband & my youngest (9 at the time) were in the king bed & we gave the pull out sofa to the (then 15 & 13) other 2 kids. I was upset that they didn't have the 2 queen room for me. I made my ressies back in Dec 01 and stayed there in Aug 02. They had enough time & they knew we were a family of 5). In the king room there is no place to put a roll-a-way. The Club Lounge was nice. The staff were great. I wasn't crazy about the pm selections but the breakfast was great! I loved the Mango cream cheese. CPM (from this board) has been there several times & can give you lots of info... but she is on her way home from vacation now... maybe she will read this & help you out!!!!;)

Thank You so much........... I'm hoping that they will upgrade us. I have the loews first member card, and with that they are suppose to give us a free upgrade.......... so, I'm hoping we get something. I've read that the sometimes offer the club level for 35.00, so if that's the case then we are going to do it!!! I have 3 sons.......... 17, 15, and 3. So, I'm just hoping for some type of upgrade, so that we might be a little bit more comfortable.........

Plus, the way they eat........... I think it'll be worth it!!!

Wendy,

Definitely don't have your heart set on the club upgrade. I think there are only 40 club rooms at RPH and it's very hard to get upgraded to their club level.

Thanks........... Do you know what the upgrade is with the Loews first member card. It says that you get a free room upgrade being a member. Just wondering what the upgrade is.......... a larger room?? If anyone knows please let me know. Though, I'm not holding my breath, I'm hoping for the club level !!!!!!!!!!!

The upgrade is for the next nicest view room...not straight to club level.

You have to book at a published loews rate in order to qualify for the upgrade...you can no longer qualify for the upgrade when booking entertainment rate, expedia, etc.!

I'm back! :)
Club rooms are the same size. You can't book a view either. Luck of the draw I guess.
Like Webray said you have to book a published rate offered on the Loew's website or in an ad or rack rate to be upgraded and that's *if available*. If you get lucky and they do offer you the $35.00 upgrade to club, it's well worth it!! I think most people are offered the executive suites at that rate. they are a standard room with an adjoining living room which has another bathroom, pullout sofa and TV.
As far as Club at RP, the staff is SUPER!!!!!! The breakfast is great. Bagels, muffins, hot stckey buns, cereal, fruit and so on. Happy hour is from 5-7 with complimentary wine & beer, other liquor available at a charge. Usually crudite, cheese & crackers and one other item is served.
Bottled water, soda, tea & coffe is available all day. Milk & Cookies are offered 8-9:30.
It's a very small club floor and is usually booked up.
Even the two queen bedded rooms are kind of small to put a rollaway in, but I know people do it.
Have fun!

Thanks.............. I had read about it on here, where people were upgraded....... so, I was hoping........ but it's looking like it's NOT the norm........... so, I think we'll stay where we are. We need the 2 queens........... and I've read that the pull out was not comfy....... since there are 5 of us....... we're staying put!!!! view or no view:)
