And the stroller saga continues....

I all your investigative powers, Maddi. And I agree, I think it's ridiculous that you have to be the one to trouble-shoot their quality issue.

I hope you can get in touch with the original swap leader - that will make things a little easier. I'm just wondering if she registered them with Instep and so they would have the original purchase date on file. Not sure if that would make things easier or more difficult (different original owner?).

I'm still working on it. I called INSTEP back but "jane" hasn't recieved word.

As for the original swap host...still waiting on a return call (provided that was still her number, we haven't talked in forever nor has she been back to the boards since Oct. 2008.

I'm still working on my options....if there is a will there is a way.

Funny thing, the strollers are still offered on the net. I found several websites with them. So that is going to be something I am going to bring up to INSTEP. To me, if they are still offering them to site to sell as new with a one year warranty, then there has to be seats available...somewhere.

I talked to both mousermom09 and sonnesolsun--the tears are in the exact same place as the others. It is the seat but not the tushy part of the seat. I do want to make the clear with everyone. It is the middle section on the bottom of the multi-seam where a child's leg sits. The only way they can be any danger to a child is if you let your child step into the seat or stand up on the seat.

The patch is holding the one stroller together fine. On the other stroller-sonnesolsun (#1 stroller), she recieved the new seat but we decided at this point to not put it on. She is very confident that stroller is safe. She is going to go ahead and stitch the seat and apply the patch to the underside.

Mousermom09 is sending the seat to me and if I can get any satisfaction, I will see if maybe adding a 1 inch piece of material to the area that always tears, taking it in to professionally sewn (industrial thread) and trying that.

The only problem is that the seats are total about an inch to short. Adding it-professionally sewn-with a reinforcing patch on the bottom should hold. Another thing I want to talk to instep about.

I know this sounds so silly because I do like the strollers alot...but we have bought how many seats...and it takes detective work on my end to figure out what the heck the problem is. Then when I tell "jane" she admits that we have been sent the newer model replacement seat each time because the other one isn't available anymore. HECK NO that doesn't work...something needs to be done to make this right with us. if they have seats there...one strollers to sell to websites...then please take two off and send them to us. That's the least they can do. I'm going to go through all me CC bills and see just how many seats was purchased (as I know they also have that information because she looked up my phone number and said "WOW, You have really went through alot of the seats...I can see that 340B doesn't work on 265 just from the number we have replaced for you) and see if I can present a strong case to get the RIGHT seats.

I'm on a mission...new "right" replacement seats, new strollers, I don't really care as long as I can get this resolved and keep these swaps going until Dec.


HAHAHA-I even thought about ordering two new 11-AR265 sending them to disney, boxing up the old ones and sending them back....evil aren't I! Onl thing is...they have the wrong seats on them! IRONIC isn't it.

Don't worry swappers, I will figure something out and get this worked out.

Maddi, This is insane. Have you tried asking for a supervisor. They usually have the power to make those decision. If they don't or won't ask for their supervisor. I have been known to go all the way up to the President's secretary. He or She will usually take care of the problem so the President doesn't get involve.

Ok...here is my plan while at WDW.

Immediately upon arriving we will be picking up #3 and #4 and giving them the once over that night. Tweaking everything, oiling what needs oiled, tagging everything with my name and info plus fixing whatever needs fixed.

During the week, Strollers #1, #2, and #5 have a down day here or there so I'm going to have everyone drop them off at POP and we will give those strollers a once over also. Plus switching strollers where we need too. If #3 is in better shape than #5, then #3 will be swtiched with #5 and I will be bring #5 home. This way, the best 3 of the 5 strollers will be left at WDW and the other two will be returning to Ohio.

We planned down time during our vacation just to go over the strollers and get them up to par so they will make it to the end of the swaps.

So when you see my name after you, you will be bringing the stroller to POP. To save myself a lil time, at this point I'm thinking about all the incoming swappers either A) meet me at one of the Parks or B) picking up their stroller at POP. I can just see me spending a day fixing the strollers and then running from resort to park to resort then back to a park and back to POP to pick up the next stroller and do the same thing. With delivering 3 strollers...OMG...I will be on the bus all day and night.

So here is the Plan...
Swap #1...goff1029...September 18th...bring the stroller to POP's Luggage services and I will get up fancied up and hand it over to 1luckymonkey at POP---FACE TO FACE SWAP--WAHOOO

Swap #2... renae0118...Sept.19th...I'll meet you at POP(ANOTHER FACE TO FACE WAHOOOO) and get the stroller ready for ready to relax who is arriving on 9/22...ready to relax, we will be at Blizzard beach during the day and MNSSHP that night. So I might be able to meet you really early on the 22nd or you can pick it up at POP anytime during that day.

Swap #3...tinkerbelle21...Sept. 17...I'll meet you at POP...wahoooo another face to face swap!

Swap #4....goff1029...Sept. 18..a double swap off for us, I see!

Swap #5...Jazzi2259...Sept 19th...another face to face! I'll meet you at POP to get the stroller and get it ready for Ifwhipp.. Ifwhipp, as soon as you get in, I can either meet you (yep another face to face) or you can pick it up in Luggage services.

So right now, it looks as though all of the swappers with the exception READY TO RELAX on the 22nd will be staying at POP.

This is my agenda for those coming in...
17th...MK all day with Dinner ressies at 6pm then spectro and wishes.
18th...Epcot all day with Dinner ressies at 4pm
19th...Going to the Ocean with dinner ressies at 5:30pm and photoshoot.
22nd...Blizzard Beach, MNSSHP and dinner ressies at 6:00pm.


OK, I think I have everyone covered plus everyone will arrive and recieve a updated stroller (HOPEFULLY-WE STIL HAVE ALOT OF OPEN DATES AND NEED STROLLER SITTERS!--PLEASE IF YOU CAN STROLLER SIT, LET ME KNOW )

Hello swappers!!!

We are back from Disney. But like Maddi said in a previous post...the Disney bug did in fact bite us and we WILL be going back soon! We totally loved it and had the best time ever!

Ok....here is the stroller update for #2. It was a hassle to get it from LS. There was no tag on it anymore. They said it had just been "left there." However, I knew differently because I had already spoke with the previous swapper. So we got the stroller back to the room and DH changed out the seats with no problem.

The stroller was a blessing for us...and mainly our kiddos. We had no problems with getting into any of the parks, except one of the gates at MK. They just sent us down to the end of the gates and we were able to get out without any trouble. Several people asked where we got the stroller. One man called it the "Cadilac of Strollers." Then there was this one guy at POP that wanted to know where we got the stroller. Told him it was through a swap. He asked what room # we were in b/c he wanted to rent it from us. When we told him that was not possible and we were not interested...he continued to ask several times what we would rent it for. So we figured he was simply crazy...or he had already experienced one of the parks with small children and no stroller.

All was well until the last night. We were getting the kids out of the stroller at Cape May Cafe...and there it was...a rip in the exact same spot! I could not believe it....the seat was less than a week old! I hated so badly to have to call Maddi. Hopefully she will get to the bottom of all this craziness. Bless your poor heart, Maddi!! Please know you totally rock!!

I left the stoller at SS, as instructed. I also included 2 extra patches in the accessories bag. I wanted to be able to fix it before we left, but didn't have the time. SO SORRY! The seat, however, is being held together by the patches I applied prior to it being put on. So hopefully it will hold.

Overall, the stoller was FABULOUS!! Now, I have to deal get ready to deal with reality. Unfortunately, a friend of mine from college passed away yesterday due to a pulmonary embolism. She was just in her 20's....it is very tragic.

I pray the stollers continue to hold up and make it through to the end of the swap. Maddi, thank you for taking my calls while I was at Disney. You are great! And congrats, on the additions to your family. They are very fortunate kiddos....you seem so loving and kind.

I'm caught up on reading and can't even begin to express how wonderful you are Maddi and all the effort and care you have for this swap.

I'll say a few prayers that Instep does the responsible thing here. It would be terrific to get two new strollers -- esp as the swap is winding down...that would relieve many issues in those final months.

Hello everyone! I'm next in line for #5. I just got off the phone with Instep. I ordered the seat for #5. We leave Thursday evening and the woman said I should receive it by then - let's keep our fingers crossed. I guess I could have shipped to to POP, but this is our first trip and I really didn't know how to go about that. Anyway, I'm in Central Illinois and she said it was coming from Southern Illinois, so it shouldn't take too long. Now, I just hope the stroller will still be waiting for me in LS when I get there! Hope everyone is having a great day! Dena

So glad to know you got it! I was nervous leaving it at SS b/c there was not a claim ticket provided. But you have it and that is all that matters. Whew!

Good to know that your kiddos were ok in the stroller. I made mine walk after I saw the tear. I didn't want it to get worse and risk it not being ok for the next swapper.

No and it is my fault. I'll be honest, I can't in good faith put anyone in the swaps until I know the strollers are up to par. Last thing I want is to possibly disappoint more swappers. Right now we have basically a 7-10 lag for me to get all of these strollers up to our high standards.

This is my list as of right now (and this doesn't count missing items such as the front bar, fans, etc.)

#1 seat issue, the new seat is there but I need the next swapper to put on the HUGE patch on the bottom and put the new seat on. I wasn't going to mess with it and was hoping for replacement strollers but as of right now, nothing...they are still investigating it.

#2 seat issue but it does have a patch on the underside and is holding fine. Yet it is the wrong seat and along with #1, being investigated to see what they can or will do since I can't seem to get a reply from the original swap host.

#3 has a broken backboard and currently not even at WDW.

#4 was just reported this past week of a broken rod between the seats. I've called and will be sending pictures as soon as the current swapper gets back. It will covered under warranty once I get the pictures as I do have the purchase invoice.

#5 has broken backboards and missing two rivots at the closing mechanism. Again, I've called and will be sending pictures to DebraW76 to contact INSTEP as soon as the current swapper gets back. It will covered under warranty also.

But adding new swappers until I get all of this resolved isn't right to the current swappers or the new swappers. Ok, I am wierd...I can't see adding ppl and disappointing them...it's bad enough if I have to let one of the current swappers down.

Hopefully everyone agrees with the decision. And as soon as the strollers are up to par...I don't have a problem adding swappers if needed. I just want to look out for all the current swappers at the moment.

WAHOOOOO...Thank you! At least we will have a nice seat on the stroller. There are a couple rivots missing so care will have to be used in folding it up but it is SAFE. I point blank asked the current swapper and she said it is safe but just wanted us aware of the problem as it could be an issue down the road.

I am next for #1- It is currently at LS waiting for me to check in next Tuesday.I spoke with the previous swapper and she sent me a photo of the claim check. I would be happy to put the new seat and patch on it- is the new seat with the stroller? Just let me know how to proceed. I will be using #4 next week as well. If you need me to do anything as to the broken rod just let me know! (only tools smilie I could find!)

Totally agree with you. I just did not want to miss something.
With both DD's now home for the summer my computer time has been.....taken
Both jobs have also been crazy and having my darling little niece most weekends now has also limited my "alone" time
I will check in though....only 43 more days to go

Thanks for the updates on the strollers. Sorry if I don't contribute much in posts, I read what I can, but I only have the internet at work and working graveyards on a busy medical unit doesn't always let me check in as often as I would like. Sending Disney magic your way!
