Hi maddie and everyone else -

Just back from our trip and we used stroller 1. It was wonderful and a great addition to our trip. It easily held my 4 yr old and 6yr old (turned 7 on the 14th). It had the tire pump, fix a flat, and rain cover with it. We passed it on the people after us and they got it from luggage services today.

While we were using it, the string that holds the seat in its postions on the the left side broke. I repaired it with a safety pin, but may need repaced. It looked like it had been going for a while with the constant use. It pulled from the seems and we used it for 3 days with the safety pin and it worked great.

Thanks again for organizing this.

Jamie

uuuugggghhhhhh! I'm trying to invision what id exactly wrong. By any chance did you take pictures? Stroller #4 is going to be back in Ohio soon (end of the month) so if need be, once I get it repaired and brought back to new, I can ship it down and have #1 shipped up. We also have the old #5 as a backup-seat issue-but I don't know if Debra ever recieved the new seat.

Folks in #1...don't worry..we are on top of it.

Boy, don't check in for a few days and see all you miss! I'm glad everything worked out and thanks to Maddi and Debra!!!

We just got back last night and had RC #2. Had no problems picking it up and did a face to face hand off to Msreneau. The stroller was great - it was very easy to push around. Our kids were able to stretch out and take naps in it. The only problem we had was at MK. The stroller will only fit through some of the ticket gates. There were a handful that it just wouldn't fit through - guess they are different sizes???

When we picked it up, we did notice a small tear in the seat of the stroller. Unfortunately, we didn't have anything with us to repair it. If anyone is going down soon, it would be a good idea to take a patch to place over the rip. We kept the seat covers over the tear so that it didn't get any worse.

The stroller had the tire pump, the black bag, and a fan. We left 3 mommy hooks with it for future swappers.

Maddi - Thanks for setting up the swap - we loved the stroller and everything went great with it!!

KayKyle'sMOM and Tisha_Pa thank you so much for the updates.

I trying to think of my next route. If only I was in Florida to do the repairs. If those are the only things wrong with the strollers, I really hate to replace them....if you guys think it isn't neccessary. What is your impressions...do you think they need replaced?

If they do need replaced, I've only one option. I figured the strollers would last a year (silly thinking huh) that is why I set it up as $10. That would cover the cost of the stroller, accessories, and replacement cost of a stroller. The stroller alone is around $200 which includes the shipping. That is 20 swappers plus another 15 swappers to cover the accessories. Most ppl stay longer than a week...plus open dates that don't get filled so if the strollers would last a year we would be fine. It seems that isn't the case.

My only option will be to raise the amount of the stroller cost since we are only getting 8 months or 32 weeks out of them.

I really need help with this. I really want to continue all the strollers at $10but they are not lasting as long as I hoped. What do you guys think? Should I raise the cost and order new ones sooner or hope that stroller will last longer with mending?

Parkersmama - I am mailing out the check today!

I have no problem paying a little more for the stroller! Even if you raised the cost to 15 or 20 per family that is still cheaper than renting a stroller in Disney for one day.

I will go ahead and drop the check in the mail today and if you decide to increase the fee I have no problem mailing additional money.

I do not think that the stroller 1 needs replaced and can work for a long time with the safety pin.

I did not get a picture of it.

I would wait and see how it goes.

I'm willing to send more money if you feel that you need to replace more often than annually. Would raising it to $15 from each swapper enable it to be replaced a few months sooner? It's really hard to guess how long the strollers will last since there is no way to know how each swapper uses it. I'm sure some treat it as if it were their own and they want it to last a long time and others figure "hey I'm just using it for this week so I don't care what happens to it". Something like a smallish tear in the seat may not be a huge deal and as noted, perhaps a patch could fix it up just fine. And the recline strap breaking - well that's a tough call. If it's going to cause anyone a hassle and they constantly are fighting with it to get it to stay into position, then yes I'd say replace it sooner than 12mos. But if the safety pin holds it fine (or maybe the manufacturer can send a replacement part) then probably no need to erplace it.

In anycase, to answer your question - I would think that at $15 (or maybe even $20) for the entire rental, most people would still be ok with it. I think if it got much more than that, perhaps people may think twice. I know there is another company that will drop the stroller off and pick it back up at your resort and it's about $65 (I think) for the whole week. So considering that we need to do drop offs/pickups with swapping, I think some may not want to fuss with it if it went much more than $15-20. But that's just my 2 cents. Maybe others disagree. :confused3

When I picked up RC 4 at the Grand Floridian, the bellman noticed that the storage bag was ripped. He told me that they have a service they could send it out to and have it repaired. I didn't get any other details, but perhaps the GF could help? Just an idea. Then you wouldn't have to pay to ship it home.

Have the next swapper take a picture.
