Roxymama's 5k to Marathon, Time to Collect Another Castle

Can you really ever have too much eye shadow? I don't think so.

The tsum tsums are so cute!!!

And, I have tried on more than one occasion to master the snot rocket. I am a miserably failed snot rocketeer. :sad2: So, like others, I'm a gloves, sleeves kinda runner. #runningisglamorous

An exciting update, A wrinkle in my plans, A "please kick my booty into gear" plea, Stuff about Water, and a couple Tsum Tsum's

Exciting Update:
My Tink flights are booked and so are my sis @AuntieBean
Had to take advantage of my points and of course I booked the first possible date that Southwest opened up their flight schedule for mid-May. Luckily I got onto the early non-stop flight and then Sis got on a flight from Texas that gets in just before mine. So we can uber together to our hotel! On the way back on Monday we share the same flight to Phoenix and then will part ways to get onto our second legs home. Which means minimal "all by myself" time and maximum "sister time." Also using points means maximum souvenear monies to be used, haha. (Am I on the only one who spells souvenEAR the disney way even for non-disney trips?)

A wrinkle in my plans:

Hubby has a very exciting trip with work planned for early January. The downside is that it falls smack dab on my potential first week of Tink training, he'll be back end of that week. So I have two options now. 1) Move out my Tink training to 1/15 week so that it is a 17 week plan or 2) Keep the timing as is with 1/8 week and just have to skip the very first easy run. I can run Friday and Sunday that first week, but nothing before that. OR a third option I just thought of 3) keep the plan at 1/8 week and beg a grandparent to come hang out with kiddo Tuesday or Wed night so I can do all my runs.
Whatever happens, I will make it work.

Please kick my booty into gear:
I didn't run last night! I had no reason not to run last night. Work was intense and I was wiped of energy and my bed looked comfy and I just didn't go out. :(
I wish I had gone out, even though it was "just" a little easy run day. I don't want to fall into that trap of the winter snugglies.
Tonight if hubby goes swimming I'll be at home to do core stuff and if he stays home I'll go to the gym. So much for earning my Minnie last night. Doh!

Stuff about Water:
I started my new daily water bottle challenge.

See how it has little milestones each hour and then a larger portion for lunch time. I made it only once through the bottle without the refill. I did great to about 11:30am and then was just SO FULL! And then my bladder kicked in (TMI) I'm not used to being very good about water consumption. By 4pm I was thinking that I better not drink anymore or else I'll be pulling my car over on the side of the road to relieve myself during the commute home. My hubby told me via text "You don't need to run a marathon the first day. Think of it as couch to 5k except it's more like Diet Coke to 1 liter" Isn't he great? So I'm trying again today. I'm gonna start at 9am line instead of 8am and see what happens. I'm just happy that I'm trying and I'm gonna keep trying. I'd like everyday water to be a habit before Tink training starts up (instead of a "just on the days I run" kind of thing.)

Your hubby is a very wise hubby. ::yes::

One missed run will not derail your training!! :tinker: And hooray for maximum souvenEAR monies!

I choose this one. A 17 week plan will get you prepared plenty well. Having a few extra runs prior to the plan starting won't hurt either. In the end, these runs will probably matter about 1% in the grand scheme of being fully prepared.

No worries, just go attack the next one like this!

Haha! Am I the kicker or the kickee??? I guess that's up to me right? :)

Both!

Kickee - As requested, I sent you a getting your butt kicked!
Kicker - As per my idea, go attack the next run like Bruce!

I love Bruce Lee...

Tricky! But makes perfect sense.

You'd like watching VHS's with my Dad...though he also loves Jackie Chan and I don't know how you feel about him. FYI: I'd probably injure myself greatly trying to kick anyone like that. I'd be in more pain than my victim.

I love Jackie too!

Here's an old school pick of me. I used to have the flexibility to pull "something" like that off. But not anymore.

I'd be too much of a wimp to be in martial arts. Even back then when I had more flexibility/energy. I would probably hide in a ball like a turtle the first time anyone so much as stepped towards me.
Now if someone ever got between me and my kiddo I'd likely hulk out and go full She-Ra on them.

Well, I know that *I* need those HM shoes...:upsidedow Because they are amazing. So I am no help.

I'll know how much I want them based on my level of jealousy once I start seeing people post about them after marathon weekend. I got so excited about the idea of Mad T-Party ones until I saw them and they are just so plain and don't remind me of T-party at all. Give me some swirly things or t-cups on the actual shoe. So I think HM are the only ones currently in my sites. I may break a few commandments in January though: "Do not covet thy neighbors limited edition new balances" and "Do not steal"

As much as I like the HM ones, I sort of feel like the New Balance/runDisney partnership is losing steam. They were super successful the first few years and then suddenly a ton were showing up at the NB outlets. Not sure if they overestimated demand or if they just weren't selling as much.

Anyway...I say "losing steam" because I feel like after the first few designs, they weren't as creative anymore. They got super aggressive whatever year that was saying they were doing new designs at each race (2015?) and then the fanfare around that sort of puttered out. The Black & White retro ones were a little boring to me (and I LOVE Steamboat Willie), and these Mad Tea Party ones are sort of "meh" too. I'm with you that the HM ones are the only ones I'm really after...will be curious to see them in person.

There's a few I would have certainly loved paying full price for if they had offered them on a website instead of at the outlets. Wish they had them near me to go purchase. Namely the Tinks and the yellow Minnies (which I realize I could have bought at last years expo, but I was so worried about my family being bored that I didn't even shop...not this time!!!) But who knows if my size would have even still been left. I'm a 8.5 or 9 depending on the shoe and those are really popular sizes.

Consider yourself kicked!!

Although as already discussed one missed run isn't going to cause you any problems. I completely understand the difficulty of getting yourself out there once it gets really cold though and the lure of a warm, snuggly spot is just too much!!

Aside: That looks kinda like Alan Rickman getting his face kicked by Bruce Lee.

I know people who stalk Dooney's probably are like "Old News...Boring" but did y'all see they have kitty cat disney dooney's now?

I'm saving up for a Tink one or just saving up for anything other than a super expensive purse. So if these were like $50 bucks I'd get one in a heartbeat. Alas they are not. I'm allergic to cats but that didn't stop me from loving my kitties growing up (masochist)

Ok, back to your regular running reading...

The Dooney-faithful were up at 3AM to snatch those up from the Shop Parks app on release day! And of course now they're now readily available on the website and are showing up in the parks. Oops!

Whenever I stay up late or wake up early for something like that (which is probably once or twice a year) I get really annoyed when it hasn't sold out in the morning during my normal waking hours. But that little competitive side of me just gets riled up and I'm a total 3AM-er. Usually it's for a makeup release and thus much cheaper than Dooneys though. Or ADRs for Disney :)

I've done it for iPhones, so I get it. :)
